Lately I have been making lots and lots of cards for various events. As such, I have been pulling out some of my favorite one sheet wonder templates! This one sheet wonder template will help you cut and create 8 cards with any 12 x 12 inch patterned papers you have on hand. It’s a great way to make multiples of one card design.
The cards feature the Nature’s Sweetness Designer Series Paper and the Notes of Nature Bundle from Stampin’ Up! However, keep in mind you can use any patterned paper or supplies you have on hand with this one sheet wonder template.
One Sheet Wonder Template
First let’s talk about the one sheet wonder template. This is a very simple way to cut up an entire 12 x 12 inch piece of patterned paper to make 8 cards. Start with a 12 x 12 inch piece of double-sided patterned paper. I recommend choosing a paper which has a busy pattern on one side and a more subtle pattern on the other side. You will be using both sides of the paper to create the 8 cards.
If you have a directional pattern, place the paper in your paper trimmer side ways and cut two 5-1/2 inch sections. You will have two sections measuring 12 x 5-1/2 inches. Next, cut the 12 x 5-1/2 inch pieces down to 3 x 5-1/2 inches. You will end up with a total of eight pieces measuring 3 x 5-1/2 inch.
You will also be left with a 1 x 12 inch piece of patterned paper. Cut this paper in half so you have two pieces measuring 1/2 x 12 inches. Next, cut the 1/2 inch pieces down to 3 inches. You will end up with a total of 8 pieces measuring 3 x 1/2 inches.
The Card Design
Now we are ready to cut the other supplies to create 8 cards with all of the pieces of patterned paper. I like to prep all my supplies before starting the assembly of the cards. For these cards, I am using one of the Nature’s Sweetness Designer Series Papers. As such, all of the supplies coordinate with the colors in my paper. Be sure to coordinate the cardstock and ink colors with the paper you plan to use with this template.
Start by creating 8 card bases using Pecan Pie cardstock. Next, cut 8 pieces of white cardstock at 2-1/2 x 3/4 inches. Stamp a greeting on the white cardstock pieces. Cut out any die shapes you would like to use to decorate the card. For this card, I cut out 8 different leaf sprays from a piece of Pecan Pie cardstock.
Once you have all the supplies prepped, you are ready to assemble the cards. Start by adding the 3 x 5-1/2 inch piece of patterned paper down the center of the card front. Take one of the 3 x 1/2 inch pieces of patterned paper and adhere it to the bottom part of the card front. Use the design on the front and back of the paper to create the cards. Do this for all eight of the cards. Add the greeting with a few stampin’ dimensionals, as shown, and embellish as desired.
