Need to create a bunch of cards fast? Learn how to cut up a 12 x 12 inch piece of patterned paper to create 12 cards! This one sheet wonder template will help you cut and create 12 cards with any patterned paper you have on hand. And the best part is, you will not have any leftover scraps!
One Sheet Wonder Template
First let’s talk about the one sheet wonder template. This is a very easy way to cut up a 12 x 12 inch piece of patterned paper to make 12 cards. Start with a 12 x 12 inch piece of double-sided patterned paper. I recommend choosing a paper which has a busy pattern on one side and a more subtle pattern on the other side. You will be using both sides of the paper to create 12 cards.
Cut the paper into four 3 x 12 inch strips. Take the first three strips and cut them into 3 x 3 inch squares. Take the last 3 x 12 inch strip and cut it down to 1 x 3 inch pieces. Once the cutting is complete, you will have twelve 3 x 3 inch squares and twelve 1 x 3 inch pieces.
Card Design
Now we are ready to cut the other supplies to create 12 cards with all of the pieces of patterned paper. I like to prep all my supplies before starting the assembly of the cards. For these cards, I am using one of the Flight & Airy Designer Series Papers. As such, all of the supplies coordinate with the colors in my paper. Be sure to coordinate the cardstock and ink colors with the paper you plan to use with this template.
Start by creating 12 card bases using Basic White cardstock. There are two different cardstock layers with this card design. First, I cut twelve pieces of Boho Blue cardstock at 4 x 5-1/4 inches. Next, I cut twelve pieces of Basic White cardstock at 3-1/2 x 4-3/4 inches. The greeting is stamped on a 3-1/2 x 1/2 inch piece of white cardstock; create twelve.
Once you have all the supplies prepped, you are ready to assemble the cards. Start by adding a 3 x 3 inch and 1 x 3 inch piece of patterned paper, cut with the template, to each of the 3-1/2 x 4-3/4 inch piece of white cardstock. Use the design on the front and back of the paper to create the cards. Adhere to the boho blue layer and then to the card front. Do this for all twelve of the cards. Add the greeting with a few stampin’ dimensionals, as shown, and embellish as desired.
