Today I have a variety clean and simple love-themed card ideas to share which feature the Adoring Hearts Bundle from Stampin’ Up! This particular bundle has a stamp set, die set and a Hybrid Embossing Folder. It’s perfect for creating love-themed cards for Valentine’s Day or any other occasion. I love the clean and simple look of these cards and I have 6 different layouts to share with you.
White on White Design
The first two clean and simple card designs feature white on white. I love the elegant look of using mostly white on a card. Adding a white embossed background or different embossed elements to the card is what gives the card such an elegant look.
To create the first card, start with a piece of white cardstock for the base of the card. Cut a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of white cardstock and emboss it with the Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder (or your favorite embossing folder). Cut a 3 x 3 inch piece of the gold heart pattern from the Most Adored Designer Series Paper pack. Adhere the DSP to the center of the card front. Cut a 2-3/8 x 2-3/8 inch square shape from a piece of white cardstock. Stamp the heart shaped design on the white square using Crumb Cake ink. Use the adoring hearts die and the hybrid embossing folder to cut and emboss 9 hearts from a piece of white cardstock. Add three of the hearts to the card front with a few stampin’ dimensionals.
The layout for the second card features a 2 x 5-1/2 inch piece of the Most Adored DSP adhered down the center of a white card front. Cut a 3-1/2 x 3-1/2 inch piece of white cardstock and emboss it with the Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder. Adhere to the center of the card. Create the same focal point as the first card. However, this time add a patterned paper heart shape in the center instead of an embossed heart shape.
Pop of Color
The next two clean and simple designs also feature white on white. However, this time I added a pop of color to the layout. It’s such a fun way to draw your attention to certain elements on the card.
The first card features four heart shapes stacked vertically on the left side of the card front. While the second card features the heart shapes diagonally across the card front. Both cards showcase a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of embossed white cardstock in the background.
You can use patterned paper hearts, embossed hearts and even die cut heart shapes to decorate your cards. The Adoring Hearts Bundle enables you to create all three of these different heart shapes! The die cut heart elements on the second card are my favorites from this set. Learn more about the Adoring Hearts Bundle HERE.
More Clean and Simple Designs
The last couple of clean and simple designs feature a bit more “pops” of color. I love the look of white and red together. The inspiration for this first card came from a Stampin’ Up! Artisan Designer Team member, Sue Mohr. She created this fun layout with some patterned paper hearts. I simply changed out the supplies to create a clean and simple look to the card.
The inspiration for the second card came from the little square “window” left in my white cardstock piece from die cutting square shapes. The white square shape is the focal point of the first couple of cards. Not only can you use the white squares to create a card. You can also use the negative space, the window, which is cut into the white cardstock. Emboss the 3-3/4 x 5 inch piece of white cardstock (with the square hole in it). Add a piece of DSP behind the square opening and decorate as desired.
