Learn how to turn one 12 x 12 inch sheet of patterned paper into 4 fun fold cards! It’s super simple and a great way to show off both sides of your pretty patterned papers. The cards feature the Adoring Hearts Bundle and Most Adorned Designer Series Paper from Stampin’ Up! However, keep in mind you can use any supplies you have on hand with these fun fold card designs.
One Sheet Wonder Template
First let’s talk about how to cut a 12 x 12 inch piece of patterned paper to create the 4 fun fold cards. Start with a piece of double-sided patterned paper. For these cards, I am using a piece of the Most Adored Designer Series Paper (DSP). Cut the paper into four 3-inch strips which measure 3 x 12 inches. Next, cut a 1 inch section off the bottom of each of the four 3 x 12 inch pieces. You will end up with 4 pieces of patterned paper measuring 3 x 11 inches. You will also have four scrap pieces measuring 1 x 3 inches. Keep those scrap pieces for decorating the inside of the card.
Score each of the 3 x 11 inches pieces of patterned paper at 3/4 and 5-1/2 inches. Fold on the 5-1/2 inch score line to create the fun fold section of the card. Fold the 3/4-inch section back onto itself and secure it with a bit of glue. This 3/4-inch section will be visible on the front of the fun fold card. Adhere the patterned paper to a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 inch piece of cardstock and then decorate as desired.
Adoring Hearts
The cards feature the Adoring Hearts Bundle from Stampin’ Up! This particular bundle comes with a stamp set, die set and a Hybrid embossing folder. The cool thing about a Hybrid Embossing folder is that you are able to emboss and cut at the same time! The dies nest right inside the embossing folder so you simply add a piece of cardstock, close the folder and send it through the embossing machine. Learn more about this fun bundle of products HERE.
The second set of cards feature a different piece of paper from the Most Adored DSP pack. This particular pack of paper is FREE with a qualifying purchase during Saleabration! And of course, it coordinates perfectly with the Adoring Hearts Bundle.
Basically, I used the same cutting template to create this second set of cards, I simply changed out the colors and decorations. You are able to create 4 fun fold cards simply by cutting up one piece of patterned paper. You can decorate them all the same or make each one a little different. It’s such a great way to show off the design on both sides of your patterned papers!
