Let’s play around with the Softly Sophisticated Bundle from Stampin’ Up! This particular bundle of products includes a stamp set and embossing folder. It is one of the many items you can choose for free with a qualifying purchase during Sale-A-Bration! And I have 6 different card ideas to share with you today!
Softly Sophisticated
First let’s talk about the Softly Sophisticated Bundle. The stamp set comes with two different floral stamps. It’s a two-step stamp. So first, you stamp the greenery for the flowers and then you stamp the flowers. For the cards I am sharing today, I focused on one of the two different floral images. The second part of the bundle features a 3D embossing folder. The colors featured on all 6 projects are Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green and Pool Party.
These first two card layouts are pretty simple designs but I love the way it draws attention to the focal point! The portrait style card features a 1 x 5-1/4 inch piece of the Softly Stippled Designer Series Paper and a 3 x 5-1/4 inch piece of embossed white cardstock. Add a 1/4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of Pool Party cardstock right between the two pieces to cover up the “seam.” Stamp the focal point on your favorite die cut shape. All of these cards feature one of the Something Fancy die cut shapes as the focal point.
The second card idea is similar to the first, but this time I changed the layout to landscape style. Start by adhering the following pieces from left to right across the card front. Cut a 1-1/4 x 4 inch piece of DSP, a 1/4 x 4 inch piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock and a 3-3/4 x 4 inch piece of embossed white cardstock. Add a 2-1/2 x 2 inch piece of vellum behind the focal point to give it more depth and dimension.
Banner Style Design
The next two Softly Sophisticated card ideas feature more of a banner style. To create the first card, start with a 3 x 5-1/2 inch piece of embossed white cardstock. Add a 3-1/2 x 3-3/4 inch piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock behind the embossed piece and then adhere down the center of the card front. Create the same floral focal point but this time add a 1 x 4-1/2 inch piece of DSP behind it. Snip the end of the DSP to create the little banner.
The second card idea features what I like to call a little button banner. It’s a 1 x 4 inch piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock adhered behind the focal point. Add a 3 x 2 inch piece of DSP and then the focal point over the top. The background is simply a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of white embossed cardstock. Super simple yet stunning effect!
Using Up Scraps
The last couple of Softly Sophisticated card ideas feature a great way to use up scraps! Many of my card designs come from playing around with leftover pieces of DSP and cardstock. The first card idea is a simple panel style card. Start with a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of white cardstock. Add a 1-1/2 x 5-1/4 inch piece of embossed white cardstock down the center. Next, add two pieces of DSP cut to 3/4 x 5-1/4 inches on each side of the embossed piece. For the finishing touch, add the focal point.
The second card idea is also a panel style card. Only this time the panels run horizontally instead of vertically. The middle panel of embossed white cardstock measures 1 x 5-1/4 inches. The two DSP and the two embossed white cardstock panels measure 3/4 x 5-1/4 inches. Simply adhere all the panels to the card front as shown. Add a 1 x 4 inch piece of torn white cardstock and a 1/2 x 4 inch piece of Pool Party cardstock to the left side of the card front. For the finishing touch, add the focal point.
