The December 2023 Paper Pumpkin kit is called All the Best. The kit contains all the supplies you need to create 9 cards plus a gift box. In this post, I will focus on some alternate ways to use the exclusive stamp set and the kit supplies to create additional cards with this beautiful kit!
Paper Pumpkin Kit
The December 2023 Paper Pumpkin kit features 3 different card designs. The kit comes with enough supplies to create 9 cards; 3 of each of the 3 different designs. The kit also includes an acetate box with a decorative belly band. You can use the box to gift the cards to someone!
I modified the card designs from the kit just slightly. You might notice that the greeting for the “thousand good wishes” card is different from the kit. I simply cut the word “luck” out of the greeting. The other two cards are similar to the kit designs; however, I did not use as many die cut flowers to decorate the cards. This was purposeful as I wanted to save some of the die cut flowers to create some alternative designs.
Kit Card Base Ideas
One of my favorite things to do when creating alternative card designs is to cut up the decorative card bases which come in each kit. Typically, the card bases have the same design on the front and back of each one. This enables me to cut apart the card bases and use them as patterned paper to make additional cards.
These first two cards feature the use of one of the card bases from the December 2023 Paper Pumpkin kit. Simply cut the card base in half to create two pieces measuring 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 inches. Take one of the 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 inch pieces and die cut a shape out of the center. In this case, I used the Radiating Stitches dies to create a rectangular shaped window in the blue card base. The rectangular shape creates a window frame for use on the first card. The second card features the use of the actual rectangular shape. You can decorate the cards with the die cut flowers and greetings from the kit.
The next two cards feature one of the kit card bases cut into 2 x 5-1/2 inch pieces. Since the card bases have a beautiful design in them, they look like patterned paper on these cards. Start by creating a card base from a piece of white cardstock. You can emboss the card front, as I did for the first card, or simply leave it plain as showcased on the second card. You can also add a 2-1/2 x 4-3/4 inch piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock behind the patterned paper to make the yellow pop on the card! Decorate the cards with some of the die cut shapes and greetings from the kit or create your own die cut shapes for the greetings.
Kit Envelope Ideas
The last two card ideas feature the design on the envelopes which came in the December 2023 Paper Pumpkin kit. The paper pumpkin kits usually have coordinating envelopes which are perfect for creating additional cards. Simply cut up the envelopes and use them as patterned paper.
For the first card, I cut the envelope flap and then cut the flower from the envelope to use on the card. Cut the envelope flap (the blue piece) down to 1-3/4 x 5 inches. Cut the flower from the envelope by creating a 2-1/2 x 4-1/8 inch piece. Add a 1 x 4 inch piece of Old Olive cardstock and adhere everything down to a white card base. The greeting is stamped on a 1 x 2 inch piece of white cardstock. Snip the end into a banner and add a 1-1/2 x 1-1/4 inch piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock behind it. Decorate with some linen thread and the gems which came in the kit.
The second card idea features the same 2-1/2 x 4-1/8 inch flower design from the envelope. This time I cut a 3 x 5-1/2 inch piece of one of the blue card bases to create the background design.
