Trucking Along with a few rustic style Christmas cards today! I just can’t get enough of this bundle! There are so many fun occasions for which you can use this bundle but today the focus will be Christmas. And I have 6 different card layouts to share with you.
Simple Card Ideas
Let’s start out with a few simple card layouts featuring the Trucking Along Bundle. Now this particular bundle comes with a stamp set and a truck builder punch. I love using punches for card making. You can make some quick focal points for your cards! There are three different stamps in the bundle which you can use to create the truck. Start by stamping the outline of the truck using Early Espresso (or black) ink. Stamp the solid truck image using Real Red ink. This will fill in the color. The last stamp added color to the wheels. The punch does not cut out the tree. However, it’s pretty easy to cut out with a scissors.
The layout for the first card is simply a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of white cardstock. You can emboss it with the Distressed Tile 3D embossing folder (or your favorite embossing folder). Tear off about a 3/4 of an inch or so from the right side of the white cardstock. Add a 1-1/4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of patterned paper to the card base and then add the torn white cardstock. Create the truck focal point and decorate as desired.
The second card simply involves layering together some designer series paper (DSP) and cardstock. The DSP layers are 2 x 4-1/2 and 1-1/4 x 3-1/2 inches. The white embossed cardstock piece measures 3 x 2-1/2 inches. The small strip of Early Espresso cardstock is 1/4 x 5-1/2 inches.
Fun Fold Cards
The inspiration for the next two cards came from a few of my recent designs. The first card idea might look a little familiar as it features a similar layout as the Trucking Along Gatefold card ideas. However, this time the card is a standard card (not a fun fold card). The layout works well for any card! If you missed the gatefold card ideas, you can view them HERE.
The second card idea is a fun fold card! Start by cutting off a 1 inch strip from the front of a standard size card. A standard size card is 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 inches when closed. Cut a 3 x 5-1/4 inch piece of white cardstock and emboss it. Adhere it to the front left flap of the card front. Cut a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of white cardstock for the inside of the card. Next, cut a 1-1/4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of DSP and adhere it to the right side of the white cardstock on the inside of the card. The banner on the front of the card is a 1-1/4 x 3-3/4 inch piece of DSP. The button element on the side of the card is a 1/2 x 4-3/4 inch piece of Early Espresso cardstock.
Trucking Along with Layers
The last two Trucking Along card ideas are really a great way to use up scraps. Simply layer together different size pieces of scrap cardstock or DSP to create a fun background for your card. For the first card, start with a 3-3/4 x 5 inch piece of white cardstock. The DSP layers are 3-3/4 x 2-3/4 inches (red) and 2-1/2 x 3-1/4 inches wood grain). The white embossed cardstock piece measures 2 x 3-3/4 inches. You can arrange the pieces on the card front as shown or get creative with it!
The last card idea features a variety of scraps. The wood grain DSP is a 1-1/2 x 3 inch scrap piece. The truck is stamped on a 3-3/4 x 2-1/2 inch piece of white cardstock. Simply add a 1/2 x 3-3/4 inch scrap piece of plaid paper and top it off with a 1/4 x 3-3/4 inch piece of Early Espresso cardstock. Layer everything together on a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of embossed cardstock! For the finishing touch, you can add a 1/2 x 3-1/2 inch piece of Early Espresso cardstock with a few rustic dots. Oh, and don’t forget to add a greeting!
