Learn how to use stampin’ write markers to color directly on your stamps. Stamp coloring is a super fun and easy way to add a variety of colors to any image! The cards feature the Quiet Meadow stamp set and the 2023-2025 In Color Stampin’ Write Markers from Stampin’ Up! However, keep in mind that you can use any supplies you have on hand to create these cards.
Stamp Coloring
First let’s talk about the stamp coloring technique. For this technique, you will need some stampin’ write markers. These particular markers are water-based so the ink from these markers are just like the ink from your stamp pad. Thus, the markers can be used to add color directly to the stamp. The markers have a brush tip and a ball-point pen tip. Use the brush tip to add different colors to the stamp image.
Be sure to use stampin’ write markers and not stampin’ blends. The stampin’ blends are alcohol-based markers so if you use them to color on the stamp, you will be permanently coloring the stamp. The stampin’ blends won’t wash off the stamp and will not work with this technique. Therefore, choosing the correct markers is important!
For these cards, I am using the 2023-2025 In Colors to add a variety of different colors to the large floral spray. Simply angle the brush side of the marker and color in different parts of the image. Once you have colored the entire image with different markers, stamp it on a piece of white cardstock. That’s it! Super simple!
Quiet Meadow
All the card ideas feature the large floral image from the Quiet Meadow stamp set. So, I basically am using the same focal point for each of the three cards. I simply changed out the shape which the image is stamped on. The three different die cut shapes were created with the Nested Essentials dies. However, you can use any shape and any supplies you have on hand with these card layouts.
