Today I have a few more fun ways you can use the fractured card technique in your card making. The cards feature the Earthen Textures Bundle from Stampin’ Up! However, keep in mind that you can use any supplies you have on hand with this technique.
Earthen Textures Fractured Card
The first couple of fracture cards feature the same style as I shared in a previous blog post. You can check out the other Fractured Card ideas HERE. This time I decided to use two different papers and a smaller square shape to create the fracture look. The cards feature a 1-7/8 x 1-7/8 inch square which is adhered to the center of a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of patterned paper. Simply create the fracture design by adhering the 1/4 pieces of cardstock around the square.
Once the 1/4-inch pieces are adhered, you are ready to add some additional patterned papers. For the first card, I chose to add some embossed vanilla cardstock to two sections of the fracture card. The second card features two different patterned papers. I recommend watching the video, below, to see how easy it is to add different papers to the fractured design.
8-Sided Fracture Card
The next fracture style card is an 8-sided design. The idea for this fracture style card came to me after I cut the octagon shape to create a simple card design with the Earthen Texture stamp set. I thought it would be fun to create a fracture style card with an 8-sided shape instead of the 4-sided square. It did take me a little bit of playing around to finally come up with a design where I would not have to cut the 1/4-inch pieces on an angle.
The octagon style shape came from the Countryside Corners Die set. The best way to learn how to create the octagon style fractured card is to watch the video. I take you step-by-step through the process. It’s a lot easier than it might look!

Hi Marcella, you can use this design to create cards for any occasion. Just change out the colors and the main focal point to something Christmas related.
