Learn how to stamp using the plastic wrap technique! And I have four different ways you can use this technique in your card making. The cards feature the Darling Details Bundle from Stampin’ Up! However, keep in mind you can use any supplies you have on hand with this technique.
The Plastic Wrap Technique
First let’s talk about the plastic wrap technique! You can use any type of household plastic wrap. Choose a plastic wrap that will stick together when you crump it up. Watch the video below to see the size of the piece I used. Simply crumple it up into a loose ball. You want to have some crinkles in the wrap so don’t make the ball too tight.

Once you have the ball of plastic wrap, you are ready to stamp with it! Dab the ball of plastic into any ink color and then blot it across a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of white cardstock. The ink will pick up the different lines in the plastic wrap and will stamp a fun little textured design across the paper. So cool!
For these cards, I am featuring the new Bubble Bath ink with this technique. The first card showcases the plastic wrap design across an entire 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of cardstock. The second card features a partial textured design. Simply stamp that plastic wrap down one side of a piece of cardstock to achieve the partial design.
Masking
You can also use the plastic wrap technique with masking! For the first card ideas, I simply inked up the plastic wrap with Bubble Bath ink and stamped in the center of a white card base. However, you can easily create a rectangular mask using the Radiating Stitches Dies and a piece of scrap paper. Cut the rectangular shape into the scrap paper. Then simply stamp the plastic wrap in the negative space of that rectangular design.

Of course, you can use decorative masks too! For the second card, I stamped the plastic wrap across one of the Artistic Mix Decorative Masks. The mask had a simple checkered style design. By using the plastic wrap technique with this mask, I achieved a fun look with the mask!
