June 2023 Paper Pumpkin Alternate Ideas

The June 2023 Paper Pumpkin kit is called Welcome Inn. The kit contains all the supplies you need to create 9 cards; 3 of each of the 3 different designs. However, today I will focus on some alternate ways to use the exclusive stamp set and some of the kit supplies to create even more cards!

Paper Pumpkin Kit

The 3 different card designs in June 2023 Paper Pumpkin kit were so beautiful that I decided to use the supplies as intended to create all 9 cards. Here are the three designs from the kit.

The exclusive stamp set from this kit features 8 images you can use to create the kit projects. However, you can also use them to create additional cards. Simply combine a few of your own supplies along with the kit supplies to enhance your card making experience with this kit. There is also a coordinating die set available for this kit called the Welcome Inn Dies; you can find it HERE while supplies last.

Cutting Apart the Envelopes

After creating all the beautiful cards from the June 2023 Paper Pumpkin kit, I decided to cut apart the pretty envelopes in the kit. The envelopes feature Boho Blue and a bit of Night of Navy which I thought would be perfect for additional card making. Let’s dive into how to cut apart the envelopes. Start by cutting off the sides of the envelope. Next, make a cut on either side of the score line which is the bottom of the envelope. You will be left with two pieces, the back side of the envelope and the front side of the envelope which includes the flap.

Take the front side of the envelope, the one with the flap, and place it in your paper trimmer. Cut a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece from the Boho Blue section first. Then take the flap of the envelope, which has the decorative pattern, and cut it down to 2 x 5 inches. You end up with two pieces, as shown above, from the front part of the envelope. Now take the back part of the envelope, as pictured above, and die cut a shape. I used the Radiating Stitches Dies to create my shape. Now you are ready to create some cards with these three pieces!

One Envelope Three Cards

Once you have cut apart the envelopes in the June 2023 Paper Pumpkin kit, you can make three cards from each envelope! If you cut apart all 9 of the envelopes in the kit, you can make 27 additional cards! Wahoo! Let’s take a look at each of the three cards created from one envelope.

The first card idea features a simple layout using the die cut shape created from the back part of the envelope. The card features a die cut shape using the Radiating Stitches Dies. However, you can use any die cut shape to create the focal point for your card. One of the images in the exclusive stamp set is the beautiful leave and floral spray which is stamped down the left side of the card front using Night of Navy ink. Add the die cut shape, a bit of vellum and then create your focal point. The vase image, from the exclusive stamp set, is featured on all the card ideas I have to share today.

The last two card ideas feature the pieces cut from the front of the envelope. For the card on the left, start with a 1 x 5-1/2 inch piece of Night of Navy cardstock. Add the 2 x 5 inch piece of the envelope flap and create the focal point. The card on the right features the 4 x 5-1/4 inch Boho Blue piece cut from the envelope. Stamp the design on the bottom and decorate as desired. Be sure to watch the replay of the livestream to see the creation of these cards!

Card Base as DSP

The last couple of cards ideas feature one of the card bases from the June 2023 Paper Pumpkin kit. I simply took the calypso colored card bases and cut them in half. One half was used to create the cards from the kit, the other half was cut up to create these additional cards. Yes, you can use the beautiful design as DSP for your cards! The colors feature Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive and Night of Navy.

For each of these cards, I began with a piece of white cardstock for the base of the card. The layout for the first card features a 1 x 5-1/2 inch piece of Night of Navy cardstock. Cut a 2 x 5 inch piece of the calypso coral colored card base and adhere to the card front as shown. This time I created the focal point with the Countryside Corners Bundle. The flowers feature the Lasting Joy set combined with the floral image from the kit stamp set.

The layout for the second card begins with the floral spray stamped down the left side of the card front using Night of Navy ink. Add a 3/4 x 5 inch piece of Night of Navy cardstock and a 2 x 4-1/2 inch piece of the calypso card base. Create the focal point and add a greeting.

Countryside Corners

As mentioned in the previous section, you can really use any die cut shapes to create your focal points for the cards. The June 2023 Paper Pumpkin kit coordinates beautifully with the Countryside Corners Bundle. The dies in this bundle make it so easy to create multiple layers for your cards. The last two card ideas feature some fun ways to use that bundle with the calypso-colored card bases from the kit.

The first card features a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 inch piece of one of the calypso-colored card bases from the kit. Use the largest Countryside Die to cut out the center of the calypso design. Adhere the negative space to a piece of Night of Navy cardstock. Create the polka dot border using the Countryside Corners Bundle. Cut out a slightly smaller die shape and adhere to the center of the card front. Decorate as desired.

The last card idea features that large die cut shape which was left over from creating the first card. Adhere it to the center of the card front and then create a few layers using the Countryside Corners Bundle. Create a focal point with the paper pumpkin kit images and the Last Joy stamp set images.
