Patriotic Cards – Circle Sayings

Since the 4^th of July is right around the corner, I thought I would share a few simple patriotic themed card ideas.  There are two quick and simple card layouts as well as some flag layouts using the ink embossing technique. The cards feature the Circle Sayings Bundle and the Stripes & Splatters 3D Embossing Folders. However, keep in mind you can use any supplies you have on hand with these card designs.

Simple Patriotic Cards

The first couple of card ideas feature some very simple layouts which work perfect with the circle sayings. I am using Blueberry Bushel, Basic White and Real Red as the colors for these cards. To create the first card, start with a piece of Blueberry Bushel cardstock for the base of the card. Cut a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of white cardstock. Add a 2 x 5-1/4 inch piece of striped patterned paper. Create a banner from a 2 x 4-1/2 inch piece of Blueberry Bushel cardstock and emboss it with one of the Basics 3D embossing folders. Create the circle saying as shown on the video. That’s it!

The second patriotic card layout is a diagonal design. Start with a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of DSP and embossed white cardstock. Cut each of these pieces in half diagonally, from corner to corner, and then adhere them to the card front. You can create two cards with this diagonal design.

You can use either of these layouts with any supplies you have on hand. The layouts will work perfect for creating cards for any occasion.

Flag Card Design

The last two patriotic card ideas feature a simple flag design you can create with the ink embossing technique. Not sure how to emboss with ink? You can create the flag design in either portrait or landscape style. Be sure to watch the video to see the creation of these cards in action!
