Today I have a variety of simple card ideas to share which feature the Gone Fishing Bundle from Stampin’ Up! This particular bundle is perfect for creating cards for anyone who enjoys fishing! The sentiments in this bundle work well for creating Father’s Day and Retirement cards. However, feel free to use these designs with other greetings to create cards for any occasion.
Gone Fishing
The first two card ideas feature some fun ways to use the fish images in the Let’s Go Fishing Designer Series Paper (DSP). I love it when Stampin’ Up! creates DSP with images I can cut out and use to decorate my cards.
Start with a piece of Pecan Pie cardstock to create the base of the first card. Cut a 2 x 4-3/4 inch piece of DSP and adhere it to the left side of the card front. Next, choose a different patterned DSP and cut it to 3 x 4 inches. Emboss a 1 x 4-1/4 inch piece of vanilla cardstock with the Twisted Rope embossing folder. Use a blending brush and a bit of Pecan Pie ink to highlight parts of the embossed image. The focal point features a 2 x 2-1/2 inch piece of vellum and a variety of different images from the DSP and stamp set.

The layout for the second card was inspired by Tammy Wilson, one of the Artisan Design Team Members. Start with a piece of white cardstock for the base of the card. Cut a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 inch piece of DSP and adhere it to the card front. Cut a 3-3/4 x 5 inch piece of a different DSP pattern and adhere it over the other piece on a slight angle. Use a blending brush to add a bit of Boho Blue ink to the center of a 3-1/4 x 4-1/4 inch piece of vanilla cardstock. Emboss the cardstock and add it to the card front. Add a 1 x 4-1/4 inch piece of DSP to the bottom of the card as shown. Decorate as desired.
Using Up Scraps
The last couple of card ideas feature some simple layouts to use with scraps. Although I am featuring the Gone Fishing Bundle, keeps in mind you can use these layouts with any supplies you have on hand. The first card features a variety of different layers. The cardstock layers are as follows: Mossy Meadow 4 x 5-1/4 inches and Vanilla 3-3/4 x 5 inches. The DSP layers include a 1-1/2 x 5 inch piece and a 1-1/2 x 3-1/2 inch piece. The vellum piece is 2 x 2-1/2 inches.

The second card layout features some fun ways to use up scraps of DSP. Start with a 1-3/4 x 5-1/2 inch piece of DSP down the center of the card front. The center DSP pieces measure 1-3/8 x 3-1/2 inches. Each piece of DSP is matted out on a 1-1/4 x 4 inch piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock. It creates a fun little focal point!
