Today I have a variety of card ideas to share which feature the Delightful Doily Hybrid Embossing Folder. There are so many fun ways to use this embossing folder in your card making. This particular set coordinates well with the Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper. I just love the Boho Blue and Night of Navy colors together.
Delightful Doily
These card ideas showcase a fun way to use the Delightful Doily Hybrid Embossing Folder in your card making. This set makes it easy to cut and emboss at the same time! To create the first card, start with a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 inch piece of white cardstock. Lay the large doily and the small fancy doily dies inside the embossing folder. There is a groove in the folder where the dies rest in. Make sure the raised edge of the dies are facing up. Add your paper and run it through your embossing machine. The dies will cut out the large and small doily shapes. Plus, the embossing folder will emboss that beautiful design in the white cardstock and the die cut pieces!
Save the large doily shape for the fourth card (below). Add some of the Countryside Inn DSP behind the negative space on the white cardstock and then adhere to the card front. Create the focal point with the smaller die cut shape and a greeting.
The second card idea features the detailed doily die in the set. Start with a piece of white cardstock for the base of the card. Cut a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of Boho Blue cardstock. Adhere a 1-1/2 x 4 inch piece of DSP and a 3/4 x 4 inch piece of Night of Navy cardstock to the left side of the Boho Blue piece. Wrap a bit of twine around the cardstock and tie the ends into a bow. Cut out the large detailed doily from a piece of white cardstock and adhere to the right side of the card front as shown. Decorate the card using some stamped images from the Lasting Joy stamp set.
Embossing with Ink
The next couple of card ideas feature embossing with ink. You can take your embossing to a whole new level simply by adding ink! Learn how to use this technique HERE. Start by using the embossing with ink technique on a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of white cardstock using Boho Blue ink. Cut out the ink embossed doily using the large die and the small circle die. The large doily is featured on the first card and the circle shape is featured on the second card.
To create the first card, emboss a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of white cardstock and die cut out a circle shape from the center of the doily. Use the circle shape to decorate the card I shared previously. Die cut a circle shape from a piece of DSP. Adhere the 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of white embossed cardstock to the card front and add the DSP circle shape in the center. Then add the ink embossed doily and a greeting.
For the second card, cut a 1-3/8 x 5-1/2 inch piece of DSP and adhere it down the center of a Boho Blue card front. Cut two pieces of Night of Navy cardstock at 1/4 x 5-1/2 inches and adhere them to each side of the DSP. Use the leftover large doily (from creating the very first card) as the focal point. Add the ink embossed circle to a 2-1/4 inch Night of Navy circle and then adhere to the card front. Decorate as desired.
