Learn how to take a standard card base and create a fun fold card! And I have two different ways you can use this fun fold flap design in your card making. The cards feature a variety of products from the Countryside Inn Suite from Stampin’ Up! However, keep in mind you can use this fun fold card layout with any supplies you have on hand.
Creating the Fun Fold
Creating this fun fold card is super simple! Start with a piece of cardstock measuring 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches. Score the 8-1/2 inch side at 4-1/4 inches to create a standard card base. Now, cut off a 2-inch piece from the front of the card. You will end up with a 2-1/4 x 5-1/2 inch flap on the left side of the card base. Take that 2 x 5-1/2 inch piece which you cut off the card front and score it in half at 2-3/4 inches. This will create the fun fold flap for this card.
Adhere the fun fold section to the inside of the card so that the scored edge is flush with the right side of the inside of the card. Cut a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of white cardstock and adhere it to the right side of the inside of the card. Die cut two of the Countryside Corners shapes from Boho Blue and adhere them back to back over the fun fold flap as shown. Decorate as desired.
Landscape Style
This fun fold card is quite versatile! You can create the card base, as described above, and then decorate it in either portrait or landscape style. The measurements for creating the card base are exactly the same.
For this particular card, I used the new Countryside Corners Bundle to do the stamping and die cutting. Be sure to watch Part 2 of the video to see how to use the bundle to decorate the fun fold flap for this landscape style card.
