Zany Zoo Window Cards

Learn how to create this fun theater style window card! The card features a variety of products from the Zany Zoo Suite from Stampin’ Up! The theater style window card is decorated with some of the fun Zany Zoo die cut shapes including little curtains, tie backs and scallops. Even if you don’t have the Zany Zoo Bundle, you can still use the basic window card layout and decorate it with any supplies you have on hand.

Window Card Design

First let’s talk about the basic design of the window card. This is a top folding card which means you will start with a 4-1/4 x 11-inch piece of cardstock. Score the 11-inch side at 5-1/2 inches to create the base of the card. Open the card up and slide it into your paper trimmer so the 11-inch side is across the top of the paper trimmer. Cut off a 1-1/4 inch piece from the bottom of the card front. Save this piece as you will being using it to create the card front with the window sheet. Next, cut off a 3-inch piece and save it for creating some of the die cut pieces, like the curtains.

Cut a 4-1/4 x 4-inch piece of a window sheet. The window sheet will be adhered to the 1-1/4 inch section on the top of the card and the 1-1/4 inch piece we saved for the bottom of the card. I recommend watching the video to see the creation of the window card in action. Once you have assembled the window card, you are ready to decorate it.

Zany Zoo Collection

Each of these window cards feature a variety of products from the Zany Zoo Collection in the Stampin’ Up! annual catalog. The Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper has some fun images, like this little ballerina, which you can cut out with the dies in the Zany Zoo bundle! Of course, you can also cut out some of the other images in the DSP with a scissors such as the hippo ballerina featured above.

You can easily create this theater style window card with the Zany Zoo dies. The dies cut out the curtain and tie back shapes. You can also create the scalloped valance with one of the dies.
