Just swinging by to hi with a few card ideas featuring the Stampin’ Up! Little Monkey Bundle. The bundle includes a stamp set and coordinating punch! Today I will share a few different ways you can add color to the little monkey images. And, of course, you can use these card layouts with other supplies you may already have on hand.
Coloring the Little Monkey
There are many different ways you can add color to the Little Monkey image. My favorite way to add color is with the Stampin’ Blends! The stampin’ blends come in a pack of two, a light and a dark shade. This means you can color in the images with the light stampin’ blend shade and then highlight the image with the dark shade. Super simple! These first two cards feature the NEW Pecan Pie stampin’ blends. Simply color the body of the monkey with the light shade and then trace around the belly to add a bit of shading with the dark stampin’ blend. Color in the face with the light shade of Crumb Cake. The leaves feature the Granny Apple Green stampin’ blends.
The layout for the first card features a 2 x 5-1/2 inch piece of patterned paper adhered to the right side of the card front. The DSP is Pecan Pie from the Neutrals pack. Cut a 3 x 4 inch piece of white cardstock. Stamp and color in the branches on the white cardstock. Add a 3-1/4 x 4-1/4 inch piece of Pecan Pie cardstock behind the white cardstock before adhering to the card front. Decorate as desired.
The layers for the second card are as follows: Pecan Pie card base, 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock, and a 3-3/4 x 5 inch piece of white cardstock. Use the same images to create a little jungle scene.
The layout of these Little Monkey cards can be used with any supplies you have on hand.
No Coloring Involved
The next couple of card ideas feature a fun way to use the Little Monkey without coloring in the image. Simply stamp the monkey image on colored cardstock and punch it out. For these cards, the monkey is stamped on Pecan Pie cardstock using Pecan Pie ink. Next, stamp just the face on a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock using Pecan Pie ink. Punch out the face using the monkey builder punch and adhere to the Pecan Pie colored monkey. It’s a super simple way to add color to the monkey!
The first card layout is the same as the one I shared earlier. I simply used different colored DSP and cardstock. The second card idea was inspired by a card in the annual catalog. The background features a 5-1/2 x 4-1/4 inch piece of DSP. Next, cut a 3 x 4-1/4 inch piece of white cardstock. Stamp the images on the white cardstock and decorate as desired!
