April 2023 Paper Pumpkin Alternatives

Today I have variety of card ideas to share featuring the April 2023 Paper Pumpkin Kit called All The Little Things. The kit contains all the materials you need to create 9 cards. However, you can use the kit materials and the exclusive stamp set to create even more cards! Don’t have the kit? No worries, you can use many of these card layouts with any supplies you have on hand.

Paper Pumpkin Kit

The April 2023 Paper Pumpkin kit contains all the supplies you need to create 9 cards; 3 of each of the 3 different designs. Here are two of the card designs you can create with the kit.

The exclusive stamp set from this kit features 7 images you can use to create the kit projects. However, you can also use them to create additional cards. Simply combine a few of your own supplies along with the kit supplies to enhance your card making experience with this kit.

Alternate Card Ideas

There are a variety of different ways you can use the supplies from the April 2023 Paper Pumpkin kit to put your own spin on the cards. These first two card ideas are just that…my own spin on the kit design. The cards feature the large leaves/branches die cut shape. I simply added a different background behind each of the die cut shapes to create a fun look!

The first card is simple the die cut shape adhered over an embossed card front. The second card idea features the die cut shape over a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 inch piece of patterned paper. And not just any patterned paper, I actually cut apart one of the coordinating envelopes in the kit and used it as DSP! Super fun and easy to do!

Kit Flowers

The April 2023 Paper Pumpkin kit contains three large floral sprays you can use to create the kit cards. However, I decided to cut apart that large floral to create two different cards. Be sure to watch the video to see how I did this.

For the first card, I started with one of the card bases from the kit. The focal point features a 2-3/4 x 2-3/4 inch white square shape created with the Stylish Shapes Die. Add a 1 x 3-1/4 inch piece of calypso coral cardstock to the side of the square shape and adhere to the card front. Use one of the flower pieces to create the focal point and embellish with a few stamped sprigs. The sprig image is one of the images from the exclusive stamp set in the kit. I simply stamped the sprig on scrap piece of white cardstock using Shaded Spruce ink and cut it out with a scissors.

The second card idea features the creation of a little frame using the layering squares in the Stylish Shapes Die set. Start with a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of white cardstock. Use the 2-3/4 x 2-3/4 inch square die (the largest one) to create a window on the white cardstock. Cut a 3-1/2 x 3-1/2 inch piece of calypso coral cardstock and cut out a 2-3/8 x 2-3/8 inch square shape using the second largest Stylish Shapes die. Adhere the calypso square behind the white square and then adhere to a Petal Pink card front. I recommend stamping your greeting on the white cardstock before adhering the frames together. For the finishing touch, add the other half of the floral to the center of the frame.

Large Flower Designs

The April 2023 Paper Pumpkin kit also includes some large floral die cut images for additional card making. Notice there is a die cut shape featuring three flowers and a die cut shape with just one flower. These die cut flowers came in the kit and were meant to be used on one card. However, I decided to use them separately so that I could create twice as many cards.

The first card features the use of the individual flower. Start with a piece of Petal Pink cardstock for the base of the card. Cut a 4-1/4 x 2-3/4 inch piece of calypso coral cardstock. Cut a 4 x 2-1/2 inch piece of white cardstock and emboss it with your favorite embossing folder. Adhere these two pieces together and then adhere to the center of the card front. Create the focal point and greeting and embellish with a few elements from the kit.

The second card idea features the die cut image which has three flowers. You can use any of the card bases in the kit as the backdrop for this large floral. There are so many possibilities with the die cut shapes in this kit!
