Today I have variety of card ideas to share featuring the March 2023 Paper Pumpkin Kit called Ten Years of Growth. The kit contains all the materials you need to create 9 cards. However, you can use the kit materials and the exclusive stamp set to create even more cards! Don’t have the kit? No worries, you can use many of these card layouts with any supplies you have on hand.
Paper Pumpkin Kit
The March 2023 Paper Pumpkin kit contains all the supplies you need to create 9 cards; 3 of each of the 3 different designs. Here are the cards you can create with the kit.
The exclusive stamp set from this kit features 8 images you can use to create the kit projects. However, you can also use them to create additional cards. And this month’s kit included a bonus exclusive stamp set. The bonus stamp set was a free gift to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of Paper Pumpkin! Both sets were super fun to create with!
Alternate Card Ideas
First let’s talk about some alternate ways you can use the supplies in the March 2023 Paper Pumpkin kit. The first two card ideas feature the design printed on three of the card bases. I simply cut apart the card bases from the kit so that I could use the bookcase design in different ways. For the first card, cut the bookcase down to 4 x 5-1/4 inch size. Use the Radiating Stitches Dies (an online exclusive product) to create the fun etching around the bookcase. The second card features the bookcase cut down to 3-1/2 x 5-1/2 inches and adhered to a Garden Green card base. It just a different way to use the kit supplies to give the cards a fun look!
The next two card ideas show a few different ways to use the supplies in the kit and some other supplies you may already have on hand. For the first card, cut a 2-1/2 x 5-1/2 inch piece of white cardstock and emboss it with your favorite embossing folder. Adhere the embossed cardstock to a 3 x 5-1/2 inch piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock. Then decorate with a variety of elements from the kit.
The second card idea features a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of white cardstock embossed in the background. Use the large label element from the kit as the focal point. Add a 2-1/2 x 2-1/2 inch piece of Fresh Freesia cardstock behind the element and adhere to the card front. Cut a 1-5/8 x 3-5/8 inch piece of white cardstock (or use the Stitched Rectangle Dies to create this piece). Adhere the rectangular piece to the center of the label element and then decorate as desired.
Bonus Stamp Set
The next couple of card ideas feature the bonus stamp set which was included in the March 2023 Paper Pumpkin kit. It coordinates well with the supplies in the kit and there are many different ways you can use it in your card making. The very first card I created with the bonus stamp set features the flower and pot images from the set. It made a perfect little window scene.
Simply cut down the window card base, from the kit, to 4 x 5-1/4 inches. Stamp the flowers on a scrap piece of white cardstock using black ink. Color in the image using Daffodil Delight and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends or your favorite coloring tools. Cut out the image withe a scissors. Next stamp the pot image on a scrap piece of patterned paper using black image. Cut out the pot with a scissors. Adhere the flower and pot to the card front and embellish as desired.
The second card idea only features the flower image (no kit supplies on this card). Start with a piece of black cardstock for the base of the card. Cut a 3 x 4 inch piece of specialty vellum and adhere to the center of the card front. Cut a 1-1/2 x 5-1/2 inch piece of patterned paper and adhere it down the center of the card. Stamp the flower image on a 2-1/4 x 2-1/4 inch piece of white cardstock (or use the Stitched Shapes Dies to create this piece). Color in the image using Daffodil Delight and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends or your favorite coloring tools. Embellish as desired.
More Ideas
The last couple of card ideas feature a combination of the March 2023 Paper Pumpkin kit supplies, a few of my own supplies and the beautiful flower image from the bonus stamp set. The first card is very similar to window card I shared earlier. I simply changed the colors to Fresh Freesia. Cut the window card base, from the kit, down to 3-3/4 x 5-1/2 inch size and add a 1 x 3-3/4 inch piece of patterned paper.
The layout for the second card idea starts with a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of embossed white cardstock. Cut a 2 x 4-1/2 inch piece of patterned paper and adhere it to the left side of the card front. Cut a 2 x 3 inch piece of vellum and adhere to the center of the card. Stamp the flowers on a scrap piece of white cardstock using black ink. Color in the image using Fresh Freesia and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends or your favorite coloring tools. Embellish as desired.
Fun Fold Card
The last card idea features a fun fold card! Start with a 5-1/2 x 7-1/2 inch piece of white cardstock. Score the 7-1/2 inch side at 4-1/4 inches to create the base of the card. Take one of the polka dot card bases, from the kit, and cut it in half at 2-3/4 inches. You will end up with two small card bases measuring 2-3/4 x 4-1/4 inches. So you can make two of these fun fold cards! Cut the card bases down from 4-1/4 to 3-3/4 inches so they will measure 2-3/4 x 3-3/4 inches. Adhere the back of the small card base to the inside of white card base. I recommend watching the video to see the assembly in action.
Once you have adhered the small card base, it create a fun fold flap on the card. Cut a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of Fresh Freesia cardstock and adhere to the inside of the card. Cut a 2-3/4 x 4 inch piece of patterned paper and adhere to the front left side of the card (under the little fun fold flap. Then simply decorate as desired.
