Rhino Ready Card Ideas

Today I have 4 easy card layouts to share which feature the NEW Rhino Ready bundle. The inspiration for these cards came from my desire to use up some of the Like An Animal Designer Series Paper. Good thing I saved this paper as it works perfect with that cute little rhino. Of course, you can use these layouts with any supplies you have on hand.

Landscape Style

The first two card ideas feature a landscape style card layout. It’s such a great layout as it provides a bit more room for using the rhino image with the trees. I highly recommend the landscape style card design when you want to create a scene with your stamp images and die cut shapes.

For the first card layout, start with a piece of Soft Suede cardstock for the base of the card. Add a 3 x 4-1/4 inch piece of the Like An Animal DSP down the middle of the card front. Next, Cut a 2 x 4-1/2 inch piece of Early Espresso cardstock. Use the radiating stitches dies to create a 2-5/8 x 4 inch die cut shape from a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. Adhere these to pieces to the center of the card front. Now that you have the basic layout for the card, you can add the focal point. I recommend watching this week’s livestream for some tips on how to assemble the die cut trees.

The second card layout features a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock for the base of the card. Cut a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of soft suede cardstock. Add a 1-1/2 x 4 inch piece of patterned paper to the left side of the soft suede cardstock. Cut two piece of Early Espresso at 1/4 x 4 inches and adhere to each side of the patterned paper. Cut a 2 x 3-3/8 inch piece of very vanilla cardstock (or use the radiating stiches die to create this piece). Then add the focal point and embellish as desired.

Portrait Style

The last two card ideas feature a portrait style card layout. I tend to make a lot of cards in portrait style. For these rhino ready cards, I switched to a gray color scheme to coordinate with the silver patterned paper.

For the first card layout, start with a piece of Basic Gray cardstock for the base of the card. Add a 1-1/2 x 5-1/2 inch piece of one of the Like An Animal DSP patterns down the center of the card front. Cut a 2 x 3-3/8 inch piece of basic white cardstock (or use the radiating stiches die to create this piece). Add a 2-1/2 x 2-1/2 inch piece of black cardstock behind the die cut rectangle shape and adhere to the card front. Create the focal point and embellish as desired.

The second card layout features a piece of Gray Granite cardstock for the base of the card. Cut a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of black cardstock. Next, cut a 3-3/4 x 5 inch piece of Gray Granite cardstock and emboss with your favorite embossing folder. Adhere the two pieces together and then adhere to the card front. Cut a 1-3/4 x 5 inch piece of DSP and a 2 x 5 inch piece of black cardstock. Adhere these two pieces together and then adhere them to the left side of the card front as shown.
