Window Card Design – A Card within a Card

Learn how to step up your window card design to create a card within a card! And I have two different ways you can use this design in your card making. The cards feature the Hello Irresistible Collection from Stampin’ Up! However, keep in mind that you can use any supplies you have on hand to create these window card ideas.

Window Card Landscape Style

First let’s talk about the basic design of the card. This window card is actually two cards all rolled into one! Start by creating a standard card base. Cut a 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inch piece of cardstock. Score the 8-1/2 inch side at 4-1/4 inches to create the base of the card. Take one of the Irresistible Blooms dies and cut the fancy circle design into the right side of the card front. Decorate the outside of the card with a bit of splatter stamping and a one of the beautiful florals cut from a piece of the Hello Irresistible Designer Series Paper.

Next, let’s create the inside section of the window card. Start with a 5-1/4 x 8 inch piece of white cardstock. Score the 8 inch side at 4 inches to create a smaller version of a card. Adhere this card inside the standard card. And, voila, you now have a card within a card!

You can decorate the outside and the inside of the card any way you want. I let the beautiful florals and patterned papers from the Hello Irresistible DSP do all the work. I love the look of the fancy circle window on this card. However, keep in mind this window card design with work with any shape such as a circle, square, rectangle, etc.

Portrait Style

As with most card designs, you can create it in portrait or landscape style. This window card design features the exact same layout and measurements as the landscape card. Yes, you can create this window card design in either portrait or landscape style without changing any of the measurements!

For this card, I wanted to showcase some of the other beautiful papers in the Hello Irresistible Designer Series Paper Pack.
