February 2023 Paper Pumpkin – 10 Alternate Card Ideas

Today I have variety of card ideas to share featuring the February 2023 Paper Pumpkin Kit called Sunshine & Smiles. The kit contains all the materials you need to create 9 adorable cards. However, you can use the kit materials and the exclusive stamp set to create even more cards!

Paper Pumpkin Kit

The February 2023 Paper Pumpkin kit contains all the supplies you need to create 9 cards; 3 of each of the 3 different designs. Here are the card designs you can create with the kit.

Each Paper Pumpkin kit includes an exclusive stamp set, an ink spot and a variety of supplies to create the projects. The stamp set in the February 2023 Paper Pumpkin kit features a variety of different images you can use to make the kit projects and, of course, use for additional card making.

Kit Supplies

First let’s talk about some fun ways to use the materials and supplies from the February 2023 Paper Pumpkin kit. The kit contains three different types of window style card bases. After creating each of the 3 different designs from the kit, I modified the remaining supplies and card bases to create even more cards. These first couple of cards are simply a modification of the cards in the kit.

I simply cut apart the card bases in the kit and used the window sections to create these cards. Cut the card bases in half, on the 4-1/4 inch score, line. Take the window sections of the cards and cut them down to 5-1/4 x 4 inches. You can still create the window scenes as shown in the kit or create a different scene with the kit supplies! Adhere the window sections flat to a card front or pop them up with a few dimensionals. The first two cards feature a Balmy Blue card base. The third card features a Pear Pizzazz card base.

Rainbow Cards

The next set of cards features the rainbow section of one of the February 2023 Paper Pumpkin card bases. Once you cut apart all the card bases in the kit, you can create so many more cards! The rainbow section is the inside section of one of the card bases. I simply cut the card base apart on the 4-1/4 inch score line. Next, cut the rainbow piece in half, on the 5-1/2 inch side, at 2-3/4 inches. You will end up with two measuring 2-3/4 x 4-1/4 inches. So, you can make two cards with these pieces!

For the first card, cut a 2 x 5-1/2 inch piece of one of the papers from the Rain or Shine DSP pack and adhere it to the left side of the card front. Cut a 3 x 4-1/2 inch piece of Balmy Blue cardstock and adhere it behind the rainbow paper before adding it to the card front. Then simply decorate the card with some of the kit supplies. The second card layout features a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of the blue checkered card bases, a 1-1/2 x 4-3/4 inch piece of balmy blue cardstock and the rainbow paper.

The last two card ideas have similar layouts to the other card ideas. I simply changed out the colors and embellishments to create a different scene.

Exclusive Stamp Set

The last couple of card ideas feature some fun ways to use the exclusive stamp set from the February 2023 Paper Pumpkin kit. The little frog image is so adorable, and it coordinates perfectly with the daisy patterned paper from the Rain or Shine Specialty Designer Series Paper Pack.

The first card features a 3-3/4 x 4 inch piece of the daisy patterned paper in the background. Adhere the DSP to a 4 x 4-1/4 inch piece of Mango Melody cardstock and adhere to a Pear Pizzazz card base. You can tuck a little scrap piece of the checkered paper on top of the Mango melody cardstock before adhering it to the card base. Use one of the layering diorama dies to create the little pond from one of the papers in the Rain or Shine DSP pack. The rain puddle die, from the Playing in the Rain die set, makes the perfect lily pad for the frog! Super cute and fun to create!

The next card idea features a few 3/4 x 4 inch piece of DSP and a 2 x 4 inch piece of Pear Pizzazz cardstock. It’s a simple panel card idea! The layout for the last card features a 1-1/2 x 4-1/2 inch piece of Pear Pizzazz cardstock and a 2-1/2 x 4 inch piece of the daisy paper. Create the pond with the Layering Diorama dies and embellish as desired.
