It’s another One Sheet Wonder kind of day! I love using up an entire sheet of paper when I am creating cards. So today I have a One Sheet Wonder idea which features the Rain or Shine Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) from Stampin’ Up! We will be using up one full 12 x 12 inch sheet of patterned paper to create 7 cards.
One Sheet Wonder Template
First let’s talk about the Rain and Shine Specialty Designer Series Paper. This particular paper pack has so many amazing patterns! One of my favorites is the 12 x 12 inch sheet featuring a light blue sky over a field of daisies. As soon as I saw this sheet of DSP, I knew I had to figure out a way to cut it up and make the most out of the pretty paper. I started by cutting a 1-1/2 inch piece right off the top of the paper. All the clouds on that 1-1/2 x 12 inch piece can be used to embellish the cards.
Next, I made a 5-1/2 inch cut across the paper. You will end up with a 5-1/2 x 12 inch piece. Place the 12-inch side at the top of your trimmer and then cut two 4-1/4 inch pieces. You will end up with two pieces which are 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 inches and one 3-1/2 x 5-1/2 inches which make amazing backgrounds for these cards. The cards feature the adorable little turtle images which I cut from a different piece of the Rain and Shine Specialty DSP. Add a little greeting and a few extra clouds to create a super simple yet adorable card.
Rain or Shine Card Ideas
The last 4 card ideas feature the bottom part of the 12 x 12 inch piece of the Rain and Shine Specialty DSP. This part of the DSP is all daisies and will become the focal point for these cards. Start by cutting a 1 x 12 inch piece. You will be left with a 3 x 12 inch and the 1 x 12 inch piece. Cut each 12-inch piece into 3-inch sections. Basically, you will have 4 pieces of DSP which are 3 x 1 inch and 4 pieces measuring 3 x 4 inches. Take the 3 x 1 inch pieces and flip them over as you will use the checkered pattern on these cards.
Now you are ready to create the focal point for the cards. Cut a 3-1/4 x 4-1/4 inch piece of Old Olive cardstock. Adhere each 3 x 4 inch piece of DSP to the Old Olive cardstock. Take the 3 x 1 inch checkered pieces and adhere them to the bottom of the daisy paper. Stamp a greeting on a 3 x 3/4 inch piece of white cardstock. Adhere the greeting to the focal point so it overlaps onto the checkered paper. Cut out a turtle image from a piece of Rain and Shine DSP using a scissors. Adhere the turtle to the center of the focal point with dimensionals.
Add a 2 x 5-1/2 inch piece of the gray rain drop DSP to the right side of the card front. Adhere the focal point to the card and then embellish as desired.
