Day at the Farm

The Day at the Farm Designer Series Paper has a variety of fun farm patterns to play with. These first couple of cards feature one of my favorite patterns in this paper pack. I love the Garden Green and Pear Pizzazz colors in this paper. Plus, the pop of the yellow in the flowers and the small cow images create such a fun scene. The first card showcases a great way to show off this paper. Start with a piece of Pear Pizzazz cardstock for the base of the card. Cut a 1/4 x 5-1/2 inch piece of Garden Green cardstock and adhere to the left side of the card front. Stamp the rolling hills image on the bottom of the card front using Pear Pizzazz ink. Add a 2 x 5-1/2 inch piece of patterned paper and embellish as desired.

The second card showcases a great way to add a depth and dimension with layers. To create the layers, adhere a 4-1/4 x 1-1/2 inch piece of Garden Green cardstock to the upper part of the card front. Cut a 4 x 2-1/2 inch piece of Pear Pizzazz cardstock and a 2-1/4 x 4 inch piece of DSP. Adhere the two pieces together, add a 1 x 3-1/2 inch piece of vellum to the bottom and then adhere to card front as shown.

For these last two cards, I simply let the patterned paper do all the work. Cut down the farm scene to fit your card front and then embellish as desired. I recommend watching the video to see how to cut the rolling hills from the patterned paper.

Farm Animal Die Cuts

The next couple of cards feature the Sahara Sand and Cherry Cobbler paper patterns. These two colors give a more vintage or neutral style for the card. For the first card, cut a 1-1/2 x 5 inch piece of DSP and adhere it to the left side of the card front. Add a 3 x 4 inch piece of the cherry cobbler colored DSP. Cut a 2 x 2-1/2 inch piece of vellum and DSP, add the card front as shown. Add one of the cow images cut from the DSP and embellish as desired.

The second card features little circle shapes cut into a 3-3/4 x 5 inch piece of patterned paper. No, I didn’t cut those circles individually. There is a fun die set called “Picture This” which I used to create all those circles at once! Of course, the Day at the Farm DSP has a variety of farm animals you can cut out and put into those circle shapes. It makes such a cute card!

Florals at the Farm

The Day at the Farm Designer Series Paper also includes a variety of non-farm related images. Yes, you can create some floral style cards. The first card features a large floral spray which happens to be on the bottom left corner of one of the papers. I simply cut out the image with my scissors and added it to the corner of my card. It makes a fabulous element on the card. The background features a 3-3/4 x 5 inch piece of yellow striped DSP to a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of Pear Pizzazz cardstock and then add it to the card front.

The second card showcases another easy way to use those florals. Stamp the rolling hills on the bottom of the card front using Pear Pizzazz ink. Add a 1-1/4 x 5-1/2 inch piece of DSP to the left side of the card front. Cut a 3 x 3 inch piece of DSP for the right side of the card front. Add your greeting using any shape and then embellish with a few flowers.

Using Up Scraps

The last two card ideas feature some of the Balmy Blue colored paper in the Day at the Farm Designer Series Paper Pack. The first cards showcases a great way to use up some of those little circles from one of the previous cards. Add a 5-1/4 x 1 inch piece of the blue DSP to the top and bottom of the card front. Cut a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of white cardstock, tear the top and bottom of the cardstock and adhere across the card front. Add the circle shapes, some twine, a greeting and a few florals. Super simple!

The last card idea is a layout that I love to use and a great way to use up scraps! Cut six pieces of DSP at 3/4 x 3 inches. Layer them on each side of the card front as shown. Add a rectangular shape in between the DSP, stamp a greeting and embellish as desired.
