Learn how to use this easy design technique to step up a standard card and turn it into a fun fold card! It’s a great way to reuse some of your favorite card designs! The cards feature the On the Farm Bundle from Stampin’ Up! However, keep in mind that you can use any supplies you have on hand with this technique.
Standard Card Design
First let’s talk by talking about the standard card design which inspired the fun fold card. Start with a 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inch piece of white cardstock. Score the 8-1/2 inch side at 4-1/4 inches to create the base of the card. Next cut a 5-1/2 x 2-1/8 inch piece of pear pizzazz cardstock. Stamp the rolling hills image, twice, towards the top of the 5-1/2 inch side using Pear Pizzazz ink. Next, randomly stamp the little grass image across the cardstock. Take a scissors and cut around the rolling hills images to create the scene and adhere to the bottom of the card front.

There are a variety of different images in the stamp set that you can use to finish decorating the card. Stamp the trees with Early Espresso ink and color them in with the light and dark shades of old olive. Use Balmy Blue ink to stamp the clouds. Once all the stamping is complete, cut out the images with the coordinating dies from the On the Farm Bundle. You can also use images from the Day at the Farm Designer Series Paper to decorate the card. I simply using one of the On the Farm dies to cut out the cow image from the DSP. Super simple and such an adorable card! The second card is simply a sneak peek of the fun fold design which we will look at next.
Fun Fold Design
Now let’s talk about the fun fold card. I love the look of the farm scene on the first card, but I wanted to step it up a bit and create a fun fold. I basically used the exact same design to create the scene on both cards. Notice how the scene on the standard card is the same scene on the inside of the fun fold card. Be sure to watch the video to see the creation of the fun fold flap and for some tips on how to carry over the design.

I have been having a blast playing around with the On the Farm Bundle from Stampin’ Up! As a Wisconsin girl, I am familiar with the farm scenes all across our state. I thought the bundle was adorable and perfect for creating cards for some of my farming friends.
