Today I have 10 different card ideas to share featuring the December 2022 Paper Pumpkin Kit called Good Things Come In Small Packages. The kit contains all the materials you need to create 16 gift card boxes. However, I decided to use most of the supplies in the kit to create a variety of different cards! Super fun and a great way to get the most out of this month’s kit!
Paper Pumpkin Kit
The December 2022 Paper Pumpkin kit contains all the supplies to create 16 little gift boxes. The gift boxes are the perfect size for gift cards. And you can create these boxes for a variety of occasions such as birthdays, graduation, anniversaries and even the birth of a new baby!
Each Paper Pumpkin kit includes an exclusive stamp set, an ink spot and a variety of supplies to create the projects. The stamp set in the December 2022 Paper Pumpkin kit features 12 different images you can use to make the kit projects and, of course, use for card making.
Graduation Cards
The first set of cards feature a graduation theme. All of the card ideas feature the Good Things Cards & Envelopes pack. This was an “add on” which was available in December but only while supplies last. It has since sold out. I do have a few extra packs of these card bases and envelopes so feel free to reach out to me HERE if you would like to purchase some. However, keep in mind you can also use regular cardstock to create the card bases.
The gift box sleeves are 3 x 7 inches and have so many fun patterns on them. Simply cut them apart and use them as patterned paper for your cards. The first card showcases one of the graduation “sleeves” cut down to 3 x 5-1/2 inches. It makes a great background for the card. The second card features another “sleeve” cut down to 3 x 3-1/2 inches. The cards are decorated with a variety of elements from the kits and a bit of vellum.
The third card features one of the gift card box sleeves cut down to 2 x 5-1/2 inches. The middle section of the card features a 3 x 2-1/4 inch gray polka dot piece. Add a bit of crushed curry cardstock and decorate with elements from the kit. The last congratulations card features the use of the scalloped contour dies to create the rectangular focal point. Cut the floral sleeve down to 2-1/4 x 3 inches and add a few scrap pieces of the polka dot paper.
Birthday Cards
Besides the graduation cards, this kit contains a few elements for creating birthday cards. Again, simply cut apart the gift box sleeves and use them as patterned paper on the cards. The first card features a 3 x 1-3/4 inch piece of the floral-patterned paper on each side of the card front. Use the scalloped contour dies to create the rectangular shape in the center of the card. Cut another sleeve, with the stripes, at 1-3/4 x 3 inches. Embellish the card with a few elements from the kit.
The second card features a large rectangular shape created with the Scalloped Contour dies. Cut a 3 x 4-3/8 inch piece of the floral pattern and adhere it to the center of the rectangular shape. Cut a 2-1/4 x 3-1/2 inch piece of vellum and then decorate the card with a few of the elements from the kit.
The next card features the 2-1/8 x 3-3/8 inch label element from the kit. Simply matte it out with a 2-3/8 x 3-5/8 inch piece of Balmy Blue cardstock and a white rectangular shape created with the Scalloped Contour dies. Super simple! The last card idea features a birthday greeting created with several different stamp images. Stamp or emboss the words and then cut them out with a scissors to create the message. The layout of this card is similar to the first birthday card idea.
Baby Cards
The last two card ideas feature a fun way to use the baby themed sleeves and elements from the kit. The first card idea features a 3 x 1-3/4 inch piece of the green striped paper and a 3 x 4 inch piece of the yellow paper (sleeve). Cut a 1 x 3 inch piece of white cardstock; use the scalloped contour dies to create the white decorative piece on the card. Create a scalloped circle using the Layering Circle dies. The white circle came in the kit but it measures 2 inches. Adhere the circle shapes to the center of the card and decorate with a variety of elements from the kit.
The last card idea is simply a great layout for using up scrap. The top two pieces measure 1-3/4 x 3 inches. The bottom piece measures 1-1/2 x 3-1/2. Cut a 1 x 3-1/2 inch piece of white cardstock; use the scalloped contour dies to create the white decorative piece on the card. Create the circle shape as described above and decorate with elements from the kit. Keep in mind that you re-create these card layouts with any patterned papers you have on hand.
Video Tutorial
As you can see, there are a variety of different things you can create with the stamp set and materials in each Paper Pumpkin kit! However, you must subscribe to the program by the 10th of each month in order to receive that month’s kit. Once the deadline passes, the kits are no longer available. So, I highly recommend becoming a subscriber, so you don’t miss out on the fun! Learn more about the monthly Paper Pumpkin kit program HERE.
