Learn how to create a slimline pocket card! It makes the perfect money holder for this holiday season! And I have two different ways you can use this design in your card making. The slimline cards feature the Joyful Flurry Bundle from Stampin’ Up! However, keep in mind that you can use any supplies you have on hand to create these cards.
Slimline Pocket Card
First let’s talk about how to create the base of a slimline card. This style of card is typically a long and narrow card. When closed, the card measures 3-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches. To create the pocket card, start with an 8-1/2 x 9-1/4 inch piece of cardstock. Score the 9-1/4 inch side at 2-1/4 and 5-3/4 inches. Fold the 2-1/4 inch section to the inside of the card. Add a bit of glue to the sides of the 2-1/4 inch section to create a pocket. The pocket is the perfect size for a money holder (instead of a gift card).
This portrait style slimline card features the pocket on the left inside section of the card. this leaves the right inside section of the card open for decorating. There is plenty of space for a handwritten message too.
The cards feature the Joyful Flurry Bundle and the Gingham Cottage Designer Series Paper. However, you can decorate them with any supplies you have on hand!
Landscape Style
Of course, you can also create this slimline pocket card in landscape style! And you do not have to change any of the measurements for the card base. You simply create the card base as described above. Then you just need to decide if you will decorate it in portrait or landscape style.
