Today I have an easy Christmas gift card holder idea which you can make in about 5 minutes! And I have two different ways you can use this design in your card making. The cards feature the products from the Christmas Scottie Bundle from Stampin’ Up! However, keep in mind that you can use any supplies you have on hand to create these cards.
Christmas Gift Card Holder
First let’s talk about the basic design and template for the Christmas Gift Card Holder. Start with a 5-1/2 x 4-1/4 inch piece of Shaded Spruce cardstock for the base of the card. To create the gift card section, cut a 5 x 7-3/4 inch piece of white cardstock. Score the 7-3/4 inch side at 2-1/4 and 6 inches. This will create two flaps. The 2-1/4 inch wide flap is the top part of the card. While the 1-3/4 inch flap, on the bottom, will become the gift card holder section. Adhere the 5 x 3-3/4 inch section (the middle section) to the card base.
Now you are ready to decorate the card! Cut a 4-3/4 x 2 inch piece of patterned paper and adhere to the top flap of the card. Next, cut a 4-3/4 x 1-1/2 inch piece of a different patterned paper. Adhere this piece to the bottom flap of the card. To create the gift card holder, simply adhere the left and right side of the bottom flap to the inside of the card. This will create the perfect size pocket for a gift card!
Portrait Style
The cool thing about this Christmas Gift Holder idea is that you can use the exact same measurements to create it portrait style. The only difference is how you decorate it!
Even the patterned paper measurements are the same! However, my only recommendation is to pay attention to any patterned paper which is directional. So for example, the presents on this paper are directional. So, to create the portrait style card, I cut the paper at 1-1/2 x 4-3/4 inches. To create the landscape style card, I cut the paper at 4-3/4 x 1-1/2 inches.
