Today I have 4 simple Christmas card ideas to share featuring the Jingle Jingle Jingle stamp set from Stampin’ Up! The cards feature a few fun ways to use the “bubble words” in this particular stamp set. I also thought it would be fun to use some non-traditional Christmas colors too! I call them bubble words as they remind me of my high school years. We wrote bubble words on our folders all the time! Haha! Ahhh, those were the days.
Non-Traditional Christmas Colors
Let’s start by talking about the cards created with non-traditional Christmas colors. I love using different shades of blue, like Balmy Blue and Night of Navy, to create Christmas cards. These colors go together very nicely with snowflakes! The first card features a fun way to create a background using one of the words in this stamp set. I recommend using the Stamparatus and the “hinge” technique to stamp the outline of the word “believe.” If you are not familiar with the hinge technique, be sure to watch the video to see it in action!
To create the second card, start with a piece of Night of Navy cardstock for the base of the card. Cut a 2-1/2 x 4-1/4 inch piece of the Kindest Gnomes DSP and adhere down the center of the card front. Next, cut a 3-1/2 x 3 inch piece of the snowflake vellum and adhere to the center of the card front. Cut a 1-1/2 x 3-3/4 inch piece of white cardstock. Stamp the outline of the “believe” image on the white cardstock using Night of Navy ink. Stamp the decorative “believe” image inside the outline using Balmy blue ink. Add a few snowflakes to the white cardstock, as shown, and then adhere to the card front with dimensionals.
Traditional Christmas Colors
The last two Christmas card ideas feature traditional and non-traditional Christmas colors found in the Sweetest Christmas Designer Series Paper. The “Jolly” word bubble works well with both of these card designs. The first card features the little Santa hat image stamped on a 3 x 4 inch piece of white cardstock. Start with a piece of Real Red cardstock for the base of the card. Adhere a 1 x 3-1/2 inch piece of DSP to each side of the card front before adding the white cardstock with the Santa hats. Stamp the “Jolly” image on a 1 x 3-1/4 inch piece of white cardstock using Garden Green ink. Matte out the image with a 1-1/4 x 3-1/2 inch piece of black cardstock. For the finishing touch, stamp the tis the season greeting on the top and bottom of the card front.
The last card idea features some Pool Party cardstock with the traditional red and green Christmas colors. Start with a piece of Pool Party cardstock for the base of the card. Cut a 2-1/2 x 4 inch piece of DSP and adhere to the center of the card front. Cut a 2 x 4-1/4 inch piece of black cardstock, a 1-1/2 x 3-3/4 inch piece of Pool Party cardstock and a 1 x 3-1/4 inch piece of white cardstock. Stamp the “Jolly” image on the white cardstock using Garden Green ink and adhere all the layers together. Stamp the other greeting on a 1-1/2 x 3-1/2 inch piece of white cardstock and adhere it behind the top part of the black cardstock.
