Today I have some easy fancy fold cards you can make with a corner punch! And I have two different ways you can use this technique in your card making. The cards feature the Peace to You stamp set and the Very Best Trio Punch from Stampin’ Up! However, keep in mind that you can use any supplies you have on hand to create these fancy fold cards.
Fancy Fold – Portrait Style
First let’s talk about how to create the card base for this fancy fold card idea. Start by cutting a 4-1/4 x 11 inch piece of Night of Navy cardstock. Score the 11 inch side at 5-1/2 inches to create the card base. Yes, you are basically creating a standard top folding card base. Next, cut off a 1-inch section from the front of the card base. Save this piece as we will use it to decorate the card. Take the Very Best Trio Punch, or any corner punch, and create a fancy edge on each corner of the card front. That’s it! Super simple to create! Now let’s decorate it.
Cut a 4 x 4-1/4 inch piece of white cardstock and punch the corners to match the card front. Emboss this piece with the Quatrefoil Tile or your favorite embossing folder and adhere to the card front. Add the 1 inch piece you cut off of the bottom of the card front and then decorate with your focal point. For the inside of the card, cut a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of white cardstock. Add a 4 x 1-1/2 inch piece of patterned paper and adhere the white cardstock to the inside of the card. The patterned paper will show through to the front of the card when the card is closed. Embellish as desired.
Landscape Style
The cool thing about this fancy fold card design is that you can create it in either portrait or landscape style without changing the measurements of the card base! Simply create the card base as described above and then decorate it in either portrait or landscape style. The portrait style will be a top folding card. The landscape style card will be a side folding card.
For my landscape style card, I am simply featuring a different focal point created using the Peace to You stamp set. All the measurements for the card base are exactly the same. For more easy fun fold card ideas, check out some of my other cards HERE.

Love this card but don’t see how the portrait card can stand up. I will make the landscape version though thank you for sharing.
Thank you. You are correct, the portrait style card doesn’t stand on its own.
