Z Fold Easel Card

Learn how to make a z fold easel card!  It’s super simple and fun to make! The card stands on its own with the help of the z fold section and the greeting. It also folds completely flat for mailing! The cards feature the Fond of Autumn Bundle from Stampin’ Up! However, keep in mind that you can use any supplies you have on hand to create this fun fold card.

Creating the Z Fold Easel

First let’s talk about how to create the z fold section of the easel card. We are basically going to create a z fold card base. Start with a 4-1/4 x 11 inch piece of Mossy Meadow card stock. Score the 11-inch side at 2-3/4 and 5-1/2 inches. Accordion fold the score sections onto each other. You have just created a z fold card which we will use as the base of this easel card.

Now let’s create the easel section of the card. Cut a 3-3/4 x 10 inch piece of Crumb Cake cardstock. Score the 10 inch side, in half, at 5 inches. Fold the Crumb Cake cardstock and adhere one of the 3-3/4 x 5 inch sections to the inside section of the z fold card. The front flap of the Crumb Cake cardstock will rest on the front flap of the z fold section. Create a little greeting and adhere it to the z fold flap, as shown, with a few dimensionals. The front section of the Crumb Cake cardstock will rest behind the greeting to create an easel style card. Super cool!

Fond of Autumn

Once you have created the z fold easel card, you can decorate it with any supplies you have on hand. I am using a variety of different images and die cut shapes from the Fond of Autumn Bundle. The bundle includes the Fond of Autumn stamp set and the Autumn Bouquet Dies.

The stamp set includes a very large image which can be used as one image to decorate your cards. You can also cut apart the image using the Autumn Bouquet Dies. This will create several smaller pieces which you can layer together on the card. I prefer using the smaller images to create the focal point. So many possibilities!
