Today I have 4 different card ideas to share which feature the Gathered Wheat stamp set from Stampin’ Up! The inspiration for these card ideas came from playing around with the scraps leftover from creating the accordion style fun fold cards. If you haven’t seen those fun fold card ideas, you can view them HERE.
Gingham Patterned Paper
The first couple of card ideas I have to share feature some the Gingham Cottage Designer Series Paper. I love the Crumb Cake and So Saffron color combination. It really seems to accent the wheat image nicely. For the first card, start with a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of white cardstock. Cut a 1-1/2 x 4 inch piece of the gingham paper and adhere it to the left side of the cardstock. Cut a 1 x 3-1/2 inch piece of specialty vellum and adhere it over the gingham paper. Stamp the wheat image using Crumb Cake ink. Stamp the splatter image using So Saffron ink. Add a few die cut wheat shapes using some Distressed Gold specialty paper and embellish as desired.
The second card idea features a bit of stamping on ribbon! Cut a 5 inch long piece of natural ribbon and stamp the wheat image on it using Crumb Cake ink. I chose Crumb Cake for a more subtle look but you can certainly use a darker color ink. Add a 2 x 5 inch piece of specialty vellum on the left side of the card front. Stamp the splatter image using Crumb Cake ink. Cut a 3 x 4 inch piece of gingham paper and adhere it to a 3-1/4 x 4-1/4 inch piece of So Saffron cardstock. Add the ribbon and adhere the So Saffron cardstock to the card front. Embellish the card with some die cut wheat shapes and a few festive pearls.
Gathered Wheat Cards
The next two card ideas feature the large gathered wheat image. Start by stamping the image on a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock using Crumb Cake ink. Cut out the image with the coordinating die from the set. Sponge a bit of Crumb Cake ink around the edges of the image. The gathered wheat image is the focal point on both of these cards.
The layout for the first card is a great way to use up scraps. Start with a 3-3/4 x 5 inch piece of Early Espresso cardstock. Cut a 1 x 3-3/4 inch piece of the cajon colored paper. Cut a 2-1/2 x 3-3/4 inch piece of the yellow paper. For the greeting, cut a 1 x 3-1/2 inch piece of white cardstock. Arrange all the pieces on the Early Espresso cardstock and add the gathered wheat for the focal point.
The layout for the second card features a 3-1/4 x 4-1/4 inch piece of cajun colored paper across the center of the card front. Cut a 2-3/4 x 3-3/4 inch piece of gingham paper and adhere it to a 3 x 4 inch piece of Early Espresso cardstock. Add a 3-1/2 x 2-1/4 inch piece of vellum across the center of the card. Embellish with the large gathered wheat image and a few die cut shapes.
