However, keep in mind that you can use any supplies you have on hand to create these fun fold cards.
Landscape Style Accordion Fold
First let’s talk about how to create the accordion fun fold card base. Start by cutting a 5-1/2 x 4-1/4 inch piece of Crumb Cake cardstock. This will serve as the base of the card and will hold the fun fold section. Cut a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of the Gingham Cottage Designer Series Paper and adhere it to the card base.
To create the accordion fun fold section, cut a 4 x 9 inch piece of Crumb Cake cardstock. Score the 9-inch side at 3 and 6 inches. Fold this piece of card stock back and forth onto itself (accordion fold) to close it up. When the accordion fold section is closed, it measures 4 x 3 inches. Adhere the bottom section to the card front as shown. You are now ready to decorate the card as desired.
Portrait Style
Now that you have the basic measurements for the accordion style fun fold card, you decorate it in landscape or portrait style! Changing the orientation of the card, for decorating, gives the card a whole new look! And the best thing about this particular fun fold card is that the measurements for creating it remain the same whether you decorate it in landscape or portrait style.
All the patterned paper and cardstock used to decorate the accordion fold sections measure 2-3/4 x 3-3/4 inches. Be sure to pay attention to any directional patterns as you may have to reverse the cutting to 3-3/4 x 2-3/4 inches.
