Hello Harvest Card Ideas

Today I have a variety of different card ideas to share which feature the Hello Harvest Bundle. I love creating autumn themed cards. The colors of autumn are my absolute favorite! And the Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper has so many fabulous autumn colors! However, keep in mind that you can use any supplies you may already have on hand with these card layouts.

Hello Harvest Cards

The first couple of card ideas showcase some simple layouts you can really use with any supplies you have on hand. The large pumpkin image makes such a great backdrop for the first card. Simply stamp the image around the outer edge of the Cajun Craze card base using Cajun Craze ink. By using the same color ink as the cardstock, it gives the image a more subtle look. Add a 1-1/2 x 4-1/4 inch piece of patterned paper across the bottom of the card and then decorate as desired.

The second card idea feature the use of patterned paper in the background. Start with a piece of Early Espresso cardstock for the base of the card. Cut a 4-1/4 x 3 inch piece of the yellow color patterned paper. Cut two pieces of the green colored paper at 3-1/2 x 1 inch. Adhere one piece to the top of the yellow paper and one to the bottom before adhering to the card front. Create the focal point and add a greeting.

The focal point of each card features the large pumpkin image from the Hello Harvest stamp set. Now I like to color my images using Stampin’ Blends. However, you can use any coloring tools to color the images.

Using Up Scraps

Now let’s focus on some fun ways to use up scraps! I really try to use up all my scraps right away. I may use them to decorate the inside of my cards or use them to create a colorful background. The first card features 3 strips of 1 x 4 inch pieces of patterned paper. Simply adhere the strips to the center of a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of Cajun Craze cardstock. Cut a 2 x 4-3/4 inch piece of Early Espresso cardstock and adhere it to the left side of the card front. Create a focal point and add it to your card, then embellish as desired.

The second card features a variety of different pieces of cardstock and patterned paper. Start with a piece of Cajun Craze cardstock to create a standard 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 inch card base. Cut a 3-3/4 x 5 inch piece of white cardstock. Adhere the following pieces to the white cardstock:

  • 1/4 x 4-3/4 inch piece of Early Espresso cardstock
  • 1-1/4 x 4-3/4 inch piece of Cajun colored patterned paper
  • 2 x 2-1/2 inch piece of the pumpkin patterned paper
  • 2 x 1-/4 inch piece of the green patterned paper

Once you have created the beautiful background, embellish the card with a bit of linen thread, a greeting and a few leaves. Super simple and such a great way to use up scraps!
