Apple Harvest Card Ideas

Today I have a variety of card ideas to share featuring the Apple Harvest stamp set and the NEW Apple Blossoms Dies from Stampin’ Up! The dies are one of 6 different sets launched as part of the Perfect Partners Promo. These dies coordinate with stamp sets we already have in the catalog! Last week I shared a few hinge style fun fold cards created with this bundle, you can view them HERE. Today, I have 6 additional card ideas to share with you featuring the Apple Harvest Bundle.

Apple Harvest Designs

First let’s talk about the Apple Harvest stamp set which is really the inspiration for all the card ideas I am sharing with you today. The set has a variety of images and greetings which can be used to create cards for any occasion. The cards feature Granny Apple Green, Poppy Parade and a bit of Soft Suede. The colors along with the fun Gingham Cottage Designer Series Paper really make these cards so fun!

The first card features a 2-3/4 x 5 inch piece of Gingham DSP in the background. Add a 1/8 x 5 inch strip of Granny Apple Green to the left side of the DSP just for a pop of color. Next, add a 3 x 4 inch piece of vellum and then add the focal point. Super simple but stunning design!

The second card idea features a great way to use up scraps! Cut 6 pieces of patterned paper at 1 x 3 inches. You can actually use any width between 3/4 – 1 inch in size. Adhere the pieces, in a staggered fashion, to the left and right side of the card front. Cut a 1-3/4 x 3-1/8 inch piece of white cardstock to adhere to the middle of the strips of patterned paper. Then decorate as desired.

Apple Blossoms

The next couple of card ideas feature the NEW Apple Blossom Dies. The dies compliment and coordinate with the images in the stamp set. The first card idea showcases a few of the apple blossom die cut shapes accenting the stamped image. There is also a scalloped die which you can use to add edging to any section of the card. In this case, I cut a 3-3/4 x 5-1/2 inch piece of white cardstock. Lay the scalloped die on the right side of the cardstock and run it through your embossing machine. Adhere a 1-1/4 x 5-1/2 inch piece of gingham DSP on the right side of the card front. Lay the scalloped white cardstock on the card front so the scalloped section overlaps onto the DSP. Add a 1/8 x 5-1/2 inch piece of Blushing Bride cardstock to the left side of the card front and decorate as deisred.

The second card idea features a 3 x 4 inch piece of the pink Gingham Cottage DSP in the background. Cut a 3-3/4 x 2-3/4 inch piece of vellum and adhere it across the center of the DSP. Cut a 2-3/4 x 2-3/4 inch square shape from a piece of white cardstock. Adhere the square to the card so it looks like a diamond. Stamp and cut out a variety of different apple blossoms images and decorate the card.

Granny Apple Green

The last two card ideas feature the same type of color scheme as the first two cards. However, this time I am using Granny Apple Green for the card base instead of Poppy Parade. The black patterned gingham really makes these colors pop.

The first card features three different layers. Start with a 4-1/4 x 3 inch piece of gingham DSP. Next, add a 4-1/4 x 1/2 inch piece of Poppy Parade under the Gingham. Then add a little decorative scalloped piece across the bottom. Create the focal point with a 2-1/2 inch circle shape and one of the apples from the Apple Harvest stamp set.

The last card idea features a 4-1/4 x 3 inch piece of gingham across the center of the card front. Tuck some leftover scraps of vellum under the top and bottom of the DSP before adhering it. The vellum pieces are 1 x 3-1/4 inches. Add two pieces of Poppy Parade cardstock, cut at 1/8 x 4-1/4 inches, to the top and bottom of the DSP. Decorate the card as desired with some of the fun Apple Harvest stamp images.
