Learn how to use the Aspen Tree Dies to create cards for any occasion. And I have 4 different ways you can use these dies in your card making. The cards feature the Perched in a Tree Bundle and the Scary Cute stamp set from Stampin’ Up! However, keep in mind that you can use any supplies you have on hand to create these cards.
Perched in a Tree
First let’s talk about the Perched in a Tree stamp set. This particular stamp set is available individually or it can be bundled with the Aspen Tree Dies. The stamp set has a variety of greetings and images which, of course, coordinate with the Aspen Tree Dies. My favorite image in this set is this beautiful bird. There are so many different ways you can add color to the bird to create cards for a variety of occasions. For these cards, I used So Saffron, Bronze, and Ivory Stampin’ Blends to add color. However, you can really use any coloring tools you have on hand.

The first card features the large tree die from the set. I simply used the die to create the oval shaped window section, with the trees, on the front of the card. You can add any patterned paper behind that window to create a beautiful backdrop for your card. The second card idea features a variety of different images and die cut shapes created with the Perched in a Tree Bundle. This bundle makes it super simple to create absolutely stunning cards.
Aspen Tree Dies
The last two card ideas feature a fun way to create a little scene behind the trees. The large Aspen Tree Die can be used with any color cardstock. I used black cardstock to create the Halloween scene. The white and navy cardstock makes a lovely winter scene. There are so many possibilities with this die! Let’s talk about how to create the Halloween card. Start with a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of white cardstock. Use a masking technique to create the moon on the upper part of the white cardstock. Then use a blending brush to add a bit of Highland Heather ink across the rest of the cardstock. Stamp a few Halloween images on the cardstock and adhere it behind the trees. it creates a spooky fun card!

To create a winter scene, start with a piece of Night of Navy cardstock for the base of the card. Stamp the splatter image, from the Perched in a Tree stamp set, across the card front using versa mark. Sprinkle the versa mark with white embossing powder, tap off the excess and heat to set the images. Cut a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of white cardstock with the Aspen Die and adhere it to the card front over the splatter images. It gives the appearance of a snowy background.
