Christmas Card Layout – 3 Ways

Today I have another fun way to use your favorite Christmas card layouts to create even more cards! It involves re-arranging the layers on your card to create a whole new look! And the best part is…you can use the exact same supplies and measurements! The cards feature the Sweet Candy Canes bundle from Stampin’ Up! However, you can use this layering technique with any supplies you have on hand.

Christmas Card Layout

Let’s start by talking about the basic layout that inspired me to create the other two cards. Start with a 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inch piece of Crumb Cake cardstock. Score the 8-1/2 inch side at 4-1/4 inches to create the base of the card. Next, cut a 3-3/4 x 5 inch piece of Garden Green cardstock. Randomly stamp the small leaf image all over the cardstock using Garden Green ink. Using the same color ink as the cardstock gives the images a more subtle look. Adhere the cardstock to the card front. Cut a 2 x 4-1/4 inch piece of patterned paper and adhere it across the center of the card.

Create a 3 inch circle shape from a piece of white cardstock, using the Stylish Shapes dies, and adhere it to the center of the patterned paper. Use the stamp images and die cut shapes from the Sweet Candy Canes and Christmas Banners Bundle to create the focal point for the card. It’s super cute and one of my favorite card designs!

Now take the exact same pieces and you can create the second card. All you have to do is simply adhere the patterned paper differently. Notice how the cards have the exact same pieces, I just changed the orientation of the patterned paper from horizonal to vertical.

Sweet Candy Canes

The last Christmas Card Layout features the exact same pieces as the first two cards. However, this time I added a bit of texture to the card. After stamping the leaves across the Garden Green cardstock, I embossed it using the Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder. Next, I did a little paper tearing on the left side of the cardstock. The 2 x 4-1/4 inch piece of patterned paper is adhered to the left side of the card front. The textured Garden Green cardstock is adhered to the right side of the card front. The card features the exact same stamped images and die cut shapes as the other two cards.

On the inside of each card, add a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of white cardstock, a little 1 x 5 inch piece of DSP and some stamped images. So fun! I love that I have three different card ideas that I can create, and each uses the exact same supplies! The cards feature the Sweet Candy Canes Bundle and the Christmas Banners Bundle from Stampin’ Up! Shop for these and other fun stamping supplies at https://lynndunn.stampinup.net
