Today I have a variety of card ideas to share featuring the Robot Buddies kit from the Stampin’ Up! kit collection. This is an all-inclusive card making kit so it contains all the supplies you need to create 9 fun cards. You can also use the supplies and the exclusive stamp set to create a variety of additional cards. The possibilities are endless!
Robot Buddies Kit Cards
The Robot Buddies kit comes with everything you need to create 9 fun cards. There are 3 different designs too. However, I only created one of each of the 3 card designs from the kit. I used the rest of the card bases, envelopes and materials from the kit to create 8 additional cards: 2 of each of 4 different designs. Of course, I added some of my own supplies too!
Besides creating the fun little cards from the kit, you can use the stamps and extra supplies to create additional cards. Simply add a few of your own supplies. For all the cards I am showcasing today, I simply used Night of Navy cardstock to create the card base. I added a few scrap pieces of Bermuda Bay, Granny Apple Green and white cardstock along with some of my own ink.
Alternate Card Ideas
These first two Robot Buddies card ideas feature one of the card bases, from the kit, used as DSP on the card front. The card bases have a design on the front and the back so when you cut them up, you can use both pieces. Simply cut the card base into two pieces. One section of the card base should be cut to 4 x 5-1/4 inches and the other section cut to 4 x 5-1/2 inches.
The first card showcases the 4 x 5-1/2 inch piece adhered to the Night of Navy card front. Cut a 2-1/4 x 3-1/2 inch rectangle shape and adhere to a 2-3/8 x 3-3/4 inch piece of Night of Navy cardstock. Add a 3 x 4-1/4 inch piece of vellum and adhere all the pieces to the card front as shown. Add the robot and other stickers to the card and embellish as desired.
The second card features the 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece adhered to the Night of Navy card front. I used a slightly smaller rectangular shape measuring 1-3/4 x 3-1/8 inches. Cut a 2 x 3-3/8 inch piece of Night of Navy cardstock and adhere to the white cardstock. Cut three strips of cardstock measuring 1/2 x 3 inches and adhere to the card front as shown. Add the rectangular shape, some robot stickers and embellish as desired.
Envelope Cards
The last two Robot Buddies card ideas feature a fun way to use the coordinating envelopes which come in the kit. I simply took apart one envelope to create these two cards. So if you take apart all 9 envelopes and add a few of your own supplies, you can create 18 additional cards from the kit supplies. I love to stretch the kit supplies to make additional cards!
The envelopes have two different designs, the light blue stripes and the dark blue cogwheels. I love using the two different designs as DSP to decorate my cards. The first card features a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of the blue striped design from the envelope. Next, layer on a 2-3/4 x 4-1/2 inch piece of the dark blue cogwheels. Stamp the robot image on a 1-3/4 x 3-1/8 inch white rectangular shape and adhere it to a 2-1/2 x 3-3/4 inch piece of granny apple green cardstock.
The second card features one of the card bases from the kit. Simple cut the card base to 5-1/4 x 4 inches. Cut a 1-1/8 x 5 inch piece of the dark blue cogwheel design and adhere it across the center of the card as shown. Cut a 3-1/2 x 2-1/4 inch rectangular shape. Stamp the robot images on this piece. Cut a 2 x 3 inch piece of Balmy Blue cardstock, adhere it behind the rectangle shape and then adhere everything to the card front. Embellish as desired.
