Today I have some easy card layouts to share which feature a variety of products from the Butterfly Kisses Suite. The card ideas showcase a great way to use up your scrap papers as well as how to get the most out of your card layouts. However, keep in mind you can use any supplies you have on hand with these card layouts.
Easy Card Layouts
First let’s talk about the versatility of card layouts. There are a variety of different ways you can arrange the layers and elements on a card to create a completely different look. These two card ideas feature a several different layers which are the exact same size. The only difference between the two cards is how I layered the papers. You can use cardstock and/or patterned paper to create the layers.
These cards were inspired by a little Mystery Stamping event I held with my team. The layers include pieces of paper measuring 1/2 x 5-1/4 inches (cut two), a 1 x 5-1/4 inch piece, a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece and a 2 x 4 inch piece. You will notice that both cards contain elements with these measurements. I simply changed the orientation of some of the pieces to create a different look. Super fun!
Using Up Scraps
The next couple of card ideas feature some fun ways to use up scrap paper. The first card design is one of my favorites. I had several strips of patterned paper leftover from creating the first couple of cards. I simply arranged them across the card front to create a colorful background. The middle piece is 1 x 5 inches and the two outer pieces are 3/4 x 4 inches. The center piece is 2 x 3-1/4 inches. You can add a greeting to the front as well. However, I did not include a greeting because I didn’t want to take away from the pretty design.
The second set of card ideas feature a variety of different scrap pieces to create a colorful background. My design process involves simply laying out the pieces on a card front and then moving them around until they “fit” together. It’s like putting together a puzzle. The only difference is that with card making, you can always trim down some of the pieces to make them fit together. Give it try! Grab some of your scrap pieces of patterned paper and create a fun little background for your cards.
