Today I have a variety of card ideas to share featuring the Uniquely Artistic stamp set from Stampin’ Up! The stamp images enable you to easily add color with a two-step stamping technique. You can also use the images without the two-step stamping. I will showcase the two different ways you can use this stamp set in your card making.
Two-Step Stamping
First let’s talk about the two-step stamping process. This process involves overlaying two stamp images together. Start by stamping the outline image on the cardstock first using a dark color. For these cards, I stamped the floral outline image using Gorgeous Grape ink. Once the outline image is stamped, you can add color with the solid overlay image. Use a lighter color ink to add the overlay image. For these cards, I used Highland Heather ink to add the solid color to the floral images. The image of the leaves feature Pear Pizzazz for the outline and Soft Sea Foam for the solid overlay image.
You can really use any colors and supplies you have on hand to create these cards. Be sure to watch the replay of the video to grab all the measurements for these card layouts.
Uniquely Artistic
The Uniquely Artistic stamp set has a variety of fun images you can use in your card making. There are so many possibilities! The two-step stamping process is a great way to easily add color to your stamped images. However, you can use the images for more than just two-step stamping!
You can use the outline and solid images on their own too. The solid images would work great to complete a bit of background stamping. These images, in particular, will create a fun watercolor look. The outline images work awesome with heat embossing which I will talk about next. However, you can use the outline image to do a bit of coloring with stampin’ blends or any other coloring tools. So many possibilities!
Heat Embossing
Let’s talk about how to use heat embossing with these images. The outline images work the best for the heat embossing technique. I typically emboss in white on colored cardstock. The white embossing really enhances the image and pulls the color of the cardstock into the image. And if you use a neutral color cardstock, like Crumb Cake, you can create a beautiful rustic look for your design.
Combine the heat embossed images with a bit of dry embossed cardstock for a fun look. These cards feature the Stitched Greenery Die embossed in the background. The other thing I love about these cards is that they feature the exact same layout as the cards featured with the two-step stamping. Yes, you can use your card layouts over and over again with other supplies to create a completely different look!
