3 Scrappy Strip Card Ideas

Learn how to use up your scrap pieces of cardstock or patterned paper to create 3 fun scrappy strip card layouts. And, of course, you can create these cards in either landscape or portrait style! So many possibilities! The cards feature the new 2022-2024 In Color Collection and the For the Record stamp set from Stampin’ Up! However, keep in mind you can use any stamp set, papers and colors you have on hand to create this design.

For The Record

When I first saw the For the Record stamp set, it took me back to my childhood and I knew I needed to add it to my collection. It’s definitely a fun set to play with! I decided to pair this stamp set up with the new 2022-2024 In Color Collection to create these bright and cheerful card designs. The record image is heat embossed with clear embossing powder for a subtle yet shiny look. It was perfect!

The first set of scrappy strip cards feature 1-inch-wide strips of paper. You can use patterned paper or regular cardstock for this scrappy strip design. Simply cut five strips of paper at 1 x 3-3/4 inches. Arrange the pieces on the card front, as shown, and then simply decorate as desired. These are super simple designs which will work with any supplies you have on hand.

Scrappy Strips

The second set of scrappy strip cards feature a similar design to the first two cards. However, in this case, the strips are a bit narrower. The first card showcases the scrappy strips cut to 3/4 x 3-3/4 inches. The card was created in portrait style but you can easily create it in landscape style using patterned paper or cardstock pieces.

The second card features a landscape style design and scrappy strips measuring 1/2 x 3-3/4 inches. Yes you can simply vary the width of the strips to create a slightly different look. And, of course, changing the orientation of the card from portrait to landscape also creates a whole new look for the card.
