Rainbows and sunshine always make me happy. So, when I saw the Rainbows of Happiness Bundle in the Stampin’ Up! catalog it went right to the top of my wish list! The stamp set has a variety of fun images and sentiments which are sure to brighten someone’s day. And the Brilliant Rainbow dies simply enhance the card making experience! Today I have 4 card ideas to share which really highlight some of the fun ways you can use this bundle in your card making.
Simple Card Ideas
Let’s start out with a few simple card designs which feature the large rainbow die in the bundle. One of the cool things about the rainbow dies is that it cuts out all 4 of the rainbow pieces at the same time. At first, I was a little bummed because I didn’t want the 4 parts of my rainbow to be all the same pattern or color. Then I realized that I could use the die to cut 4 different pieces of patterned paper and then just mix and match the pieces to create 4 different cards! Notice that each card features the same colors/patterned paper but the order of the colors/patterned papers on each rainbow are different. Super fun!
The rainbow pieces are easy to adhere to any piece of cardstock. The edges of the rainbow pieces perfectly align with the edges of any piece of cardstock. You can decorate the card with a variety of small die cut cloud shapes using the Brilliant Ranibow dies from the bundle. You can also use the cloud punch to create some clouds for your card. The cloud punch is sold separately from the Rainbow of Happiness Bundle.
3D Pop-Up Card
The last card idea is a 3D pop-up card. This card design might look familiar to you as I recently featured it in my latest post with the New Horizons Suite. If you missed it, you can check it out HERE. I highly recommend watching the video to see the creation of the 3D pop-up section in action.
The card base is 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 inches when closed which is the standard card size. Create the 3D pop-up section from a 4-1/4 x 5 inch piece of cardstock. Score the 5-inch side at 3/4, 1-3/4, 3-1/4 and 4-1/4 inches. Fold on all the score lines to create a little box and simply add it to the bottom of a standard size card. Super simple WOW card idea.
Rainbow of Happiness Card Making Class
These card ideas were inspired by the Sunshine & Rainbows Designer Series Paper and one of the projects featured in the Stampin’ Up! Saleabration catalog. Yes, I know the DSP is no longer available as Saleabration has ended. However, I did stock up on the DSP during Saleabration for two reasons! First, I love the bright and cheerful patterns in this DSP pack. Second, I wanted to use the DSP for a card making class!
The card making class features 20 different ideas! There are 5 different modules/themes featured in the class tutorial: (1) Simple Card Ideas, (2) Stepped Up Card Ideas, (3) Double One Sheet Wonder, (4) Using Up Scraps and (5) Fun Fold Card Ideas.
All class participants will receive a full package of the Sunshine & Rainbows DSP in their card making package but only while my supplies last! So be sure to reserve your spot in the class soon! Get all the details HERE.
I hope you enjoyed these Rainbow of Happiness card ideas. Have a fun and creative day my friends! ~ Lynn
