A few Island Vibes have been flowing through my craft room this weekend. Yes, I have been busy putting together a few cards with this Saleabration stamp set. There are only three stamp images in this set yet the possibilities for card making are endless! Let’s take a closer look at 4 different card designs featuring this set.
Simple Card Layouts
The first two card ideas feature two of the images from the Island Vibes stamps set. The large tropical leaves make up part of the backdrop for the card while the small potted tree becomes the focal point. The patterned paper is from the Artfully Composed Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. And the “newspaper” print is actually from the Vellum Layering Designs pack. However, keep in mind you can use any supplies you have on hand to decorate your cards.
For the first card, start by stamping the large tropical leaves around the edges of a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of pear pizzazz cardstock. Use pear pizzazz ink for the stamping for a more subtle look. Add a 1 x 4 inch piece of DSP and a bit of ribbon to the bottom of the cardstock. Create a focal point using the layering dies from the Hippo & Friends die set. Embellish as desired.
The second is very similar. Start by stamping the large tropical leaves down the left side of the card front. Add a 3 x 4 inch piece of the Vellum and a half of a paper lattice. Create a focal point and embellish as desired.
Pineapple Cards
The last two cards feature the Island Vibes pineapple image and the tropical leaves. The first card idea is pretty straightforward. Cut a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of white cardstock. Stamp the tropical leaves, as shown, using pear pizzazz ink. Create a focal point with a piece of the Artfully Composed DSP and a pineapple. Stamp the pineapple on a scrap piece of white cardstock using Evening Evergreen ink. Color the top of the pineapple with the light Old Olive stampin’ blend. Cut out the image with your scissors. Stamp another pineapple using pear pizzazz ink. Color the bottom of the pineapple with the dark Daffodil Delight stampin’ blend. Cut out only the bottom of the pineapple that you colored yellow and adhere over the evening evergreen pineapple.
To create the second card, start by adhering a 3 x 4 inch piece of vellum to the center of the card front. Cut a 2 x 4-1/4 inch piece of Bumblebee cardstock, stamp a few pineapples on it using Bumblebee ink and adhere across the card front. Create a focal point with two layering die cut shapes. Then simply decorate as desired.
Inside Decorating Ideas
Of course, no card is complete without a bit of decorating on the inside. Check out some of the fun ways you can use the Island Vibes stamp images and patterned paper to decorate the inside of the cards. Use the stamp images on the front and inside of the card. Little scrap pieces of patterned paper will work perfect for decorating the inside of the card. You can also create a fun little pop-up section! It’s super simple to create too! Love your cards and will probably be casing at least one of them. Also, just wanted to let you know that the leaves image are actually banana leaves and the potted plant looks like a small plumeria tree (aka frangipani). Thanks for sharing your card ideas!
Thank you. I knew there was a specific name for these images, I appreciate the information
