Today I have a unique fun fold card idea to share with you which I am featuring in portrait and landscape style. This fun fold design is basically a card within a card. It’s easy to create and features the Sunshine and Rainbows Designer Series Paper. This paper pack is free with a qualifying order during Saleabration. Besides the cheerful rainbow paper, the cards also showcase some of the new products from the All Together Suite which just launched yesterday! However, keep in mind you can use ANY supplies you have on hand to create these unique fun fold cards.
Portrait Style Fun Fold
The first unique fun fold card is featured in portrait style. For most of my cardmaking, I use the portrait style orientation. Start with a 5-1/2 x 9-1/4 inch piece of white cardstock. Score the white cardstock at 3-1/2 and 7-3/4 inches to create the base of this fun fold card. Next, cut a 3 x 6 inch piece of white cardstock. Score this piece at 3 inch to create a “second” card. Adhere the 3-inch card to the small flap of the base of the card. The bottom of the 3-inch card will tuck inside the base of the card while the top of the 3-inch card will overlap onto the front of the card base. I highly recommend watching the video to see the assembly of this card in action.
Once you have assembled the base of the card and added the 3-inch card, you are ready to decorate it. Now I choose to use the Sunshine and Rainbows DSP to decorate most of the card. However, I did use one of the All Together DSP patterned, with the hands, to decorate part of the 3-inch card. All the greetings and sentiments came from the Here Together stamp set which is part of the new All Together suite. I just thought it was a fun way to showcase these products.
Landscape Style
This second unique fun fold card showcases the landscape style. It always amazes me how easy it is to change the look of a card simply by changing the orientation. The measurements for creating the card base are exactly the same as the portrait style card. The only different between the two cards is how I decorated it.
The front of the card showcases one of the All Together Designer Series Paper patterns. It was a black and white rainbow design which I simply colored with a few of my stampin’ blends. You can you any coloring tools you have on hand to create the rainbow. I simply cut out the rainbow and added it to the 3-inch section of the card. Punch out several cloud shapes to decorate the card front. Pop up the cloud in the upper right corner, with a few dimensionals, to create a closure for the card. You can easily tuck the corner of the fun fold section under the cloud to keep the card closed.
I combined the Sunshine and Rainbows DSP with a variety of products from the All Together suite to decorate the inside of the card. You can certainly decorate the card any way you prefer and with any supplies you have on hand.
