Today I am showcasing a fun little stamp set called Catching Butterflies. This set is free with a qualifying purchase during Saleabration. It’s a super cute little set and I have 4 different ways you can use it in card making.
Stamping on Patterned Paper
The first two card ideas feature a fun way to use your patterned papers. It’s a great way to “color” in the little girl’s dress without actually coloring! Simply stamp the image on a scrap piece of patterned paper using black memento ink. Cut out the dress using a scissors. Stamp the girl image on your card using black memento ink and then glue the patterned paper dress to the stamped image. It’s just so cute to add a patterned dress to the stamped image.
The first card features some simple stamping and coloring. Start with a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of white cardstock. Cut the top of the white cardstock using one of the Basic Border dies. Stamp and color in the images to create a little summer scene. Use stamping’ blends or your favorite coloring tools to add color to the images and the background. The second card idea features the creation of a focal point using the adorable little girl image. Add a 2 x 4-1/4 inch piece of patterned paper on the card front. The Sunshine & Rainbows DSP has some fun patterns, colors and images to use in your card making. It’s also free with a qualifying purchase during Saleabration! Yay!
Catching Butterflies
The last two card ideas showcase Magenta Madness which is one of the In Colors that will be retiring this year! I can’t believe we have had this color for two years already! The first card is a simple window card created with one of the layering circle shapes. Using a circle die, cut it into a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of white cardstock. Be sure to choose a circle shape large enough for the image. Stamp the butterflies around the circle window. Cut a 3-1/4 x 3-1/4 inch piece of white cardstock. Stamp the little girl image on this piece of cardstock using Black Memento ink. Color in the image with your favorite coloring tools. Adhere the image behind the circle window and decorate as desired.
The second card features the leftover circle shape from creating the window on the first card. Start by stamping the butterfly image on the card front using Magenta Madness ink. Cut a 2 x 4-1/4 inch piece of patterned paper and adhere it across the center of the card front.Stamp the little girl image on the circle shape using black memento ink. Color in the image with your favorite coloring tools. Notice that the butterfly net doesn’t fit on circle shape for either card. Simply stamp it on a scrap piece of white cardstock, cut it out with a scissors and adhere to the card with a few dimensionals.
