Saleabration is my favorite time of the year! So it’s only fitting to focus on the fabulous freebies, like these Awesome Otters, you can earn with a qualifying purchase. The Awesome Otter stamp set has some absolutely adorable images for card making. So today I have 4 simple card ideas to share featuring this set.
Simple Awesome Otters Cards
The first two cards showcase how to take a simple layout and step it up to create a totally different look. Stepping up your cards is also a great way to use some of your favorite card layouts over and over again in your card making. The layout of the first card inspired the stepped up design for the second card.
Start by adhering a 2 x 5-1/2 inch piece of patterned paper to the left side of the card front. Create a focal point with one of the otter images. You can use any die cut shape to create the focal point. Stamp the otter image and color it in with your favorite coloring tools and embellish as desired. Notice the differences between the two cards? The second card simply has an additional piece of patterned paper and a different shape for the focal point. That’s it! Yet the cards look completely different.
Picture This
The last two card ideas feature one of my favorite dies in the annual catalog. The die is called “Picture This” and it is super simple to use. I decided to use the die on a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of DSP and a piece of white cardstock. The die cuts out the little rectangular shapes from the DSP and the white cardstock. Once the rectangular shapes are cut out, you are left with three little windows.
Use the three white rectangular shapes with the windows in the patterned papers. Then take the three patterned paper rectangular shapes and adhere them in the windows on the white cardstock. I recommend watching the video to see the creation of these cards in action.
