Blessings of Home Card Ideas

Today I have a variety of card ideas featuring the new Blessings of Home bundle from Stampin’ Up! The card ideas showcase three different layouts which you can actually use with supplies you may already on hand. Plus I have some simple stamping techniques to share which I think you are gonna love.

Blessings of Home Card Ideas

Tone on Tone Stamping

These first two card ideas feature the tone on tone stamping technique. This really just means that I used the same color ink as the cardstock to complete the stamping. It gives the image a more subtle look on the card.

As you can see the cards were created in two different color schemes too. I love to show you how to use the same card layouts over an over again, with different supplies or colors, to create a whole new look! The first card features Cinnamon Cider while the second card was created using Fresh Freesia. Both of the layouts are identical, just the colors are different.

Sponging Technique

The next two card ideas showcase a simple sponging technique. The layout features a 3 x 4 inch piece of one of the wood grain papers from the Heart & Home Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. A second piece of DSP measuring 2 x 3-1/2 inches was also used. Be sure to coordinate the second piece of DSP with the colors in your project.

Start by stamping the floral image from the Blessings of Home stamp set on the wood grain paper using the same color ink as the card base. Next, sponge a bit of that same color across the image. Tear the right side of the wood grain DSP and add a bit more ink by sponging it around the torn section and the entire piece. Adhere the DSP to the card front as decorate as desired.

Background Stamping

The last two card ideas feature the use of greetings and sentiments to create a fun background. You can use as many or as fe greetings and sentiments as you would like. I used two greetings to create my background. Simply lay the greetings on an acrylic block, ink up the images and stamp across the card front. I recommend starting in the upper left corner of the card front and stamping diagonally across the card until the entire card front is covered.

Use the tone on tone technique to create the background with the greetings. The focal point for each of the cards is simply the large floral image from the Blessings of Home stamp set. The first card features that large image embossed, in white, on a scrap piece of Cinnamon Cider card stock. The second card features a bit of sponging of color on that large floral. Same card layout, just different color scheme.

  1. Morning Lynn, just saw these new cards, I like the idea of ink on same color card, neat idea. I have not tried sponging yet, but something I may learn to do this year, I need to expand to the next level. Thanks for all your videos, and great card ideas
