Today I have 4 super cute Christmas card ideas featuring the Be Jolly and Candy Canes stamp sets from Stampin’ Up! The Candy Canes stamp set works perfect for creating the fun background for these cards. The Be Jolly stamp set is used to create the adorable focal point. Let’s take a look at how you can use these two stamp sets in your card making.
Candy Cane Background
The Be Jolly and Candy Canes stamp sets work so well together! The easiest way to create these cards is to start by creating the Candy Cane background. The first two card ideas feature the Candy Canes stamped on a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of white card stock using Real Red ink. You can stamp the entire image on the white card stock or you can partially stamp the image. Partial stamping involves stamping the image on half of the white card stock and then adding a bit of DSP on the other half.
Once you have created the Candy Cane background, simply decorate the cards as desired. A little bit of DSP and and a fun little image, like this Santa, and you some adorable little cards. You can get all the measurements and a complete list of supplies by downloading the printable tutorial below.
Subtle Background
These next two cards feature the use of the Candy Cane stamp to create a more subtle background. Simply stamp the image using the same color ink as the card stock. So, in this case, the candy cane image is stamped on Real Red card stock using Real Red ink.
You might have noticed, on the first card, that the Candy Cane background stamp is large enough to cover the entire card front. It’s such a fun and simple way to decorate the card front!
