Today I have a variety of different card ideas to share which feature the September 2021 Paper Pumpkin kit called Harvest Haunts. The kit actually features some adorable little pumpkin treat containers. The card ideas I am featuring today show you some fun ways to use the exclusive stamp set and die cut shapes from the kit.
Harvest Haunts Projects
The September 2021 Paper Pumpkin kit is called Harvest Haunts. The kit contains all of the materials to create 12 pumpkin treat containers. Plus, the kit shipped in a wood grain specialty box so that you could cut it apart and create a little wheelbarrow for the pumpkins! You can check out the wheelbarrow idea and other fun alternatives for using the kit on the Stampin’ Up! blog HERE.
My granddaughter and I had a blast putting them together and filling them with a bit of candy. Those little ink spots that come in the kit are the perfect size for her. She is super excited to take these to school to share with her friends.
Fall-Themed Card Ideas
Each Paper Pumpkin kit includes an exclusive stamp set, an ink spot and a variety of supplies to create the projects. The stamp set in this month’s kit features 10 different images you can use on the kits projects and for card making. The ink spot included in this month’s kit featured the Soft Succulent color. I decided to add a few of my own colors and supplies to create some cards and put that exclusive stamp set to good use.
The first card features a fun little alcohol spritzing technique. Start by cutting a 3 x 4-1/4 inch piece of vellum. Color the vellum with a variety of different color Stampin’ Blends. Add a bit of rubbing alcohol to a spritzer and spray the colored vellum. It will give you some cool little alcohol splotches on the vellum. The second card features some simple stamping on the card front. Randomly stamp the leaf images across the card front using a variety of different fall colors, then decorate as desired. Use the Stitched with Whimsy dies to add a bit of texture to the card front.
Monochromatic Card Ideas
These last two card ideas feature a monochromatic design for those of us that want to create cards with just one color. The Soft Succulent ink spot from the kit makes some beautiful cards! Simply add a bit of coordinating patterned paper and a bit of stitching to turn your card into a WOW card.
The first card idea features some simple stamping. Choose one of the greetings from the stamp set. Ink up the image with some Soft Succulent ink and stamp it on the left side of the card front. Then, without re-inking the image, stamp it again. This is called the stamp off technique which creates a lighter version of the Soft Succulent color. Continue to use this technique to create a background for the card. Add a bit of vellum and a one of the leftover leaves from the kit. Dress up the bottom of the card with a 3/4 x 4-1/4 inch piece of the DSP.
The second card idea features the Stitched with Whimsy dies cut into the top part of the card front. These little dies provide a nice frame for the leftover leaves. Cut a 1 x 4-1/4 inch piece of DSP and add it to the card as shown. Stamp a greeting and add a bit of torn paper.
Supplies
Super fun little kit, hey? As you can see, there are a variety of different things you can create with the stamp set and materials in each kit! However, you must subscribe to the program by the 10th of each month in order to receive that month’s kit. Once the deadline passes, the kits are no longer available. So I highly recommend becoming a subscriber so you don’t miss out on the fun! Learn more about the monthly Paper Pumpkin kit program HERE. Check out some of the past paper pumpkin kits HERE.
Have a fun and creative day my friends! ~ Lynn
