Today I have a variety of different card ideas to share which feature the August 2021 Paper Pumpkin kit called the Hope Box. The card ideas feature some fun ways to use the exclusive stamp set and die cut shapes from the kit. The alternate card ideas feature a simple “wash” created with different color stampin’ blends. There are lots of creative possibilities with this kit and the stamp set!
Paper Pumpkin Kit Cards
The August 2021 Paper Pumpkin kit is called the Hope Box. The kit contains all of the materials to create 9 cards; 3 of each of the 3 different designs. Plus, the kit shipped in a specialty box, the Hope Box, that you can decorate! The cards are super simple to create since everything in the kit is pre cut and ready to assemble. The die cut shapes, for decorating the Hope Box, actually inspired me to create a few alternate ideas!
Each Paper Pumpkin kit includes an exclusive stamp set, an ink spot and a variety of supplies to create the cards. The stamp set in this month’s kit features 10 different images you can use in your card making. Plus there was a little Blackberry Bliss stampin’ spot in the kit. This particular color, and some of the other colors in the kit, coordinates nicely with the Expressions in Ink Designer Series Paper (DSP).
Stampin’ Blend Wash
The next couple of card ideas feature a simple way to use your stampin’ blends to create a fun background. The “wash” technique is most commonly used in watercoloring. However, you can achieve the look of a watercolor wash simply by using your stampin’ blends. Stampin’ Blends come in a light and dark shade. These cards feature the use of the dark shade Pool Party stampin’ blend to create the wash. Simply run the stampin’ blend back and forth across a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of white cardstock to create the wash. You can actually use both the light and dark shades to create an ombre look for the wash.
Once you have created the wash, simply decorate as desired. The patterned paper pieces used on these cards measure 1 x 3-3/4 inches and 1/2 x 3-3/4 inches. The greetings is stamped on a 3/4 x 3 inch piece of white cardstock. The cards are embellished with a variety of die cut shapes from the kit.
Hope Box Card Ideas
The wash technique can be used with a variety of the different colors too! The first card features a melon mambo wash using the light shade stampin’ blend. It also features a great way to use the ribbon from this month’s kit. Ribbon with a large width works great for layering. You can use it on a card just like a piece of paper. The second card idea features a 3 x 4 inch piece of one of the patterned papers from the Expressions In Ink Designer Series Paper pack. The DSP is adhered to a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of embossed white cardstock. The card is embellished with ribbon and a die cut butterfly from the kit.
The last two card ideas feature a fun way to use the large butterfly from the kit. The butterfly was meant to be used to decorate the Hope Box. However, if you cut the butterfly in half, you can create two cards with it!
Supplies
As I have mentioned before, I really look forward to receiving my kit each month. The projects are super fun and there are a variety of different things you can create with the materials in each kit! However, you must subscribe to the program by the 10th of each month in order to receive that month’s kit. Once the deadline passes, the kits are no longer available.
